Question Evo Insurance cost?

For those of you lucky enough to already have an Evo, I was wondering what kind of 'damage' your insurance premium is incurring.

I heard something about a "streetable race" classification for the EVO, meaning ungodly high insurance costs. Whats everyone getting? This may be the make-or-break part of my decision to buy one.

It would also help to know your associated ages, and general driving history (ie, you have 1 or 50 tickets the past few years).

Thanks!

Compared to all other sporty cars, the insurance is not too high for the Evo VIII, yea it is a turbo car but it is also 4 door and is considered a sport sedan. From my understanding, the insurance is not too high compared to many other cars such as the 350z, m3 or z06.

This topic has been discussed before, so do a search. But...

I got quoted $1900 per year..and I have a spotless record (knock on wood), married and under 25 rates.

You got a very good rate...
What are your coverage limits (deductible, collision, etc.) if you don't mind me asking?

well, i dont have the numbers in front of me but i think its 300k personal, 100k property (whatever the standard numbers are).

500 collison deductible

100 comp deductible

its also that low b/c I paid 6 months in lump sum. without lump sum it would have been 1240 for 6 months.

(yeah, it is really low, i keep wondering if they have a regular lancer on file instead, but hey, they have my VIN #.)

~$750 for 6 months with Statefarm.. I am 24.. And have a lot of speeding tickets..
Coverage:
100 Comp
500 Collision
Uninsured/underinsured
Rental car

But i have renters, 3 cars, and a Roth IRA though them, so i get a pretty large discount.

I am sure it will go up once people start driving their cars too. The WRX jumped up ALOT.. I am hoping the price of the evo will keep some of the idiots out of them.

Progressive said they didn't have it in their system either. I got quoted as insurance on a "Lancer" that she added the "high performance" flag to. The rates were up a little from my Subaru, somewhere around $2k a year maybe? I have 100/300/100 with 500 deductibles, GAP, towing, rental, uninsured/underinsured coverage.

24 with one ticket that should be off my record now.

wow, you must be the youngest CEO of a fortune 500 company, or very well off and generous parents. You're paying as much for insurance per month as the car payment.. try shopping around, you can almost certainly find a better rate than that.
