How to: take out sound deadening without dry ice and for less then $6

ok so i thought i would do a quick write up of taking sound deadening out without using dry ice and for cheap as long as you have all things that i am going to show you in the pics the only thing you have to buy is the gum adhesive remover for $5

step 1: make sure you have these items the gum remover i got at shucks/orileys

step 2: spray the remover on the sound deadening crap and let it soak for 30+seconds (recommend on doing a section at a time to reduce mess and doesn't hurt to tape off cause it will leave a residue at first) pic is of the sound deadening crap

step 3: use a screw driver and hammer (might not need the hammer) hit the end of the screw driver with the hammer or pry it up with just the screw driver pic is of after its all up

side tip it might leave a brown residue will explain how to get rid at the end

step 4: to get the last bit off take the gum remover and spay on part you wish to take up this is where it will get the most mess. use a putty knife to scrape away (dont be afraid to put some elbow grease into it and have paper towel around to wipe up mess)
pic is after all scraped up (got tired so didnt wipe up the last small bits lol)

to take car of the last brown bit of residue you can use the gum remover spary over area and wipe away and you can use lacquer thinner after that but keep in mind you might use a lot of paper towels i hope this help some people who want to do this but dont have a place to get dry ice or trying to do this on a budget if you have questions and i dont respond on this thread just send me a pm

Whoa, this must be loud. I remember removing door panels on a 1994 accord to install speakers. Drove around for one afternoon without them and it was pretty freaking loud already haha
