Evo Owners of the ‘Net: Maria Laura Gaston
Gaston is the kind of girl who builds her own Evo, races, and can usually be found in the garage.
Looking at Maria Laura Gaston’s Instagram account it is clear she was born with gasoline in her bloodstream. Her passion is her Mitsubishi Evo VIII, and over the years she has worked hard on building it to be a raging piece of automotive perfection. We hear the expression “lady built” get used a lot in the car culture world, and yes, it is true of Gaston. But in Gaston’s case, she doesn’t work hard on cars for any reason other than she loves it, and always has. And looking at her work, she also happens to be an incredibly talented gearhead.
Gaston gravitated towards the Evo III from her interest in racing. After getting a taste of the Evo’s capabilities, she was hooked. She rolled up her sleeves, and got to work.
Her Evo VIII has gone through many modifications over the years. One thing she is striving for in her car is speed and power. To that end, it now has over 500 hp, and 427 torque.
Her Evo VIII strives for maximum performance on the road and the track. She has Vossen VFS-1’s in matte graphite measuring 19×9.5 front and rear, wrapped in Nitto tires 235/35ZR/19.
She recently upgraded to a Matte Moonlight Metallic body wrap. Very sharp.
But Gaston seems most at home behind the wheel, tearing up the road…and freaking out her friend while she does so!
