Installing new head unit, problems - pls help

I am trying to install a new clarion head unit. So complicated. I think I have most of it down though.
Problems are the dome light went out, and the climate controls went out.
Can anyone tell me what fuse it may be that blown or worse.
Thanks in advance!

first of all disconnect the orange wire from the headunit, do the climate controls just not light up or do they not blow air?

well i Dug the fuses out for radio and dome, both blown. So those two are fixed.
Still the climate control 2 backlights wont glow. They blow air though

Recheck your wiring w/ the HU. Chance's are if your blowing fuses like that then you may have some wires crosses somewhere or you may have a knocked a ground loose for those ones that you have fried.

those 15A mini fuses are expensive too

you have to be careful, since the entire "cage" around the head unit area is grounded..

yeah, figured the tail light fuses under the hood run the speed/tach cluster, and climate control gauges respectively. Silly, damn right those fuses are riduculous. Wish i wouldnt have been to cheap to buy the harness, think i saved around $0.32 after the headaches and mess was over.
Learn from me people- buy the harness!
Thanks for the help guys

Wink

the wiring harness is only about $11 & you don't have to use the ground cable since bolting the deck in w/the 4 bolts will ground the deck.

its the same as the 2003 lancer as well for your info cause i used that harness on my car make sure you take the ground wire from the harness and attach to the cd deck as well as grounding it by screwing it in

Thanks

just picked up a harness for the 05 evo. gonna throw in all Alpine Type-X stuff. should be loud. when i installed the Alpine deck in the 03 evo, i didn't need to attach the ground cable. the mounting brackets were enuff to ground & get power.

MAke sure no wires are touching. I had clairon also and the orange wires do not go to anything. make sure they are not touching at all! That was my prob. and get a connecter and krimp it on the ground wire and undo the bolt on the metal behind the cd player there are 2 bolts. (OR just ground it somewhere) And for my clarion i HAD to ground it. Get ya a big box of fuses and a case of beer and take your time because you messed up somewhere and your just looking over it! Good luck
