aluminum are under the shifter too. they have poly and alum for under the shifter, and alum, brass, and poly for under the hood.

Lets see how long we can maek a tranny oil tread about shifter bushings

To get the thread back on track... I talked to the girl I bought my car from the other day. She had the car for 15k miles and it had 25k when she got it, the tranny fluid I replaced with royal purple still looked brand new... kinda crazy.

the fluid will not necessarily be bad after that long, it depends on the conditions. The main thing, was it cloudy? since it's a closed system it doesn't really get dirty, but begins to break down instead. after a long time it has broken down so much it can no longer perform properly and the tranny will wear much faster.

come on man, this one was about suspension bushings so long I thought we were gonna ask for a title change

Lol... I need to be banned for derailing the thread... BAN ME!@#$

I guess that makes sense about it not being contaminated since it's a closed system. Yah my fluid didn't really look cloudy either. Do you think there is a chance it was stock fluid at 50k? Heh I suppose guessing is about impossible since there are people in the world that don't change their engine oil in 50k miles .

I'm kinda thinking my RA is a little too fast for me. Not because I can't handle it, but because it gets up to 60 so fast that I speed. I'm gonna get caught... I know it. But because how fun it is to shift the way it is... it feels SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD. Maybe the ticket would be worth it ...mmmmm maybe not.

It's not worth it, not yet anyway wait until you start doing some tuning. then you'll think it's too fast.

yeah my car was at 50k miles and id have to say changing ur gear oil should be done prior to that because i see a big difference in the tranny now especially since i used the bg2 syncroshift which is synthetic. highly recommended.

^thx gears

i ended up going with pennzoil synchromesh anyways since winter is coming and i heard redline takes a bit to warm up i dont plan on running this stuff too long ill switch to redline for summer but shouldtn be a prob for the time being sicne i m stock. read above link for why it might be prob for higher tq

as for pennzoil i must say this stuff is good as hellllllllllll!!!!! i just installed a ss and bushings(both) but once i changed the oil man it was like going from cutting stale bread to cutting warm butter.... then again i never changed my trannyoil cuz my mechanic told me it wasnt needed till 100k screw him i m doing all the work on my car no1 touches my car anymore & synchromesh is the truufff it works! but be careful i guess
