Head removal/install
im getting a PnP intake mani and head from sideck here on the forums. the install from the manual has like 3 special tools and some crazy torque procedures. like tight to a certain torque spec, then totally loose them, then torque back down to another torque spec. anyone have a easier to follow step by step on this? pics hopefully? post up if you do, if not ill try and figure it out with my DSM friend. thanks

Ha when in doubt I always research the outlander 4g69.

When it comes to head work I would just do as the manufacturer specifies ha, some people will say to tighten in a 3 stage sequence but everything I looked up says the same thing that manual does. The special tool(s) are numbered but I don't know what makes them a special tool.. according to the illustrations and a quick find the head bolts need an ordinary 12 sided 13mm deep socket on a torque wrench.. anyways this states tighten head bolts to 78+/-2N.m (57.5 ft lbs) in order, reverse them out entirely in reverse order, tighten to 20+/-2N.m (14.75 ft lbs) in order, paint mark the diameter/radius of each head stud and turn 90 degrees in order, then tighten them all again 90 degrees in order so the paint marks appear to form a straight line across the head. Looking further shows me the 90 degree turns need be exact or else the head stud needs to be pulled and tried again (without having it stretch past 99.4mm or a new head bolt must be used)
