80% done on my gauage installs
I got three gauges
1. oil pressure
2. voltage
3. water temp
and I am about 80% done (the only thing left is to mount and wire the senders)
I wanted to get the gauges to dim with the stock rhostat and I wanted it to come on with the headlights, which took a while to figure out (and it works wonderfully)
I also needed to find red bulbs for the backlight so that they match the stock color and brightness, which also took forever
I brought the stock radio delete panel and drilled 3 holes for the gauges and it was a tight fit..
I still don't have a digicam, but i will try to post up pictures later, anyways, here's the picture of the gauges I brought:
compare to autometer, they have a bigger face, have better backlight (the light is not "localized" around the bulb) and they take standard 194 peanut bulbs, so it's ultra easy to upgrade to new colors or even LED!
I got two more spots, so I am thinking of getting an EGT..

Out of curiousity, how much oil pressure are you getting? I'd like to have an oil pressure gauge, I suppose I'll eventually get around to installing one, but the only one I have laying around is an old mechanical gauge, and there's no way in hell I'm running engine oil into my passenger compartment.

you can get a isolator kit from autometer for your mechanical guage, but then it probably cost about the same as getting a new electric one
i got a 0-100 psi one, haven't install the senders yet because there isn't really an easy place to tap into the block

why no 02 sensor?
why no 02 sensor?
if you try to install the senders yourself you will run into the same problems.. you need somewhere that has a good oil pressure and water temp reading.. if you just want ANY reading, then you can just mount it anywhere

You have to mount it at the back of the block where the stock PSI switch is located, that's what i did on mine and it works fine, getting 70psi on highway speeds, and aprox 20 at idle.

pulled the wires thru the firewall and just need to run a ground wire for the water pipe tee
the senders are mounted to the greddy oil filter block and the water pipe tee with the sender mounted.. just need to visit the mechanic to put them in and wired them up
the bulb backlighting is heating up the gauge too much.. so i am switching them to red LEDs

I ran the wires last night (3 hours) to the oil pressure and oil temp senders. The oil pressure worked right away but we thought the oil temp sender was busted, since it didn't move at all.. but on my way home it started to raise, so it was all good
I get about 40 psi at idle and 70 psi on cruise and 100psi (or more, since it maxes out at 100psi) on hard acceleration
Oil temp in local driving is about 180F but when i was flying on the highway (160km/h) it rise to almost 240F.. is this normal?
The water temp still needs to be hooked up, I am going to plumb it inline with the throttle body warmer

water temp wiring is done and the sender was installed, but it leaked a bit at the Tee, so I am getting that fixed before I can put it back on
it also needs a ground connection, so I will have to figure that one out later when I get the Tee back.. when it was working, it showed an idle water temp of 200F, which is what i was expecting
the oil temp is around 200f during normal cruising and 240-260F under hard runs, so I think I will need to extend this project to include an oil cooler of some sort.
the oil pressure is consistently at 80psi with the gas pedal down and 100+psi with the gas pedal all the way down (hard run)
I don't have any way to take pics.. maybe i will swing by your work mark and you can take the pictures?
