Window Tinting costs?
#46
I live in NY where Tints are pretty hot and i am getting them installed tomorrow. Paying $180 for 15% black. the guy doing mine does tinting for dealerships on occasion and is in demand. I think if you are paying more than 225 then you are being taken for a ride, unless that price comes with some type of long term guarantee.

You guys are insane with pricing anywhere above $150 for a compact car! I got mine done with Llumar 15% all around for only $125. And Llumar carries a lifetime warranty.

I just got my windows tinted today out in Oceanside. It ended up costing me only 165.00 (including lifetime warenty) and that was for all the rear windows at 5% and the front two at 20%. I didnt get the sun strip yet but i plan too they said it would cost $25

"7. Why do I see bubbled or purple tint on cars?
The tint is either very old or of poor quality. Most older films, even the quality brands, will discolour and turn purple. When this is accompanied by bubbles then the film used was a cheap brand. The bubbles are a result of a failure in the adhesive system causing the tint to literally lift from the glass. If our tint ever bubbles, we will replace it at no additional cost to you, but we guarantee that this will never happen.

^^ both correct. Demand a high quality film with at least 5 layers. Most tint shops will try and use 2 or 3 layer tint that will not last too long, fade, bubble and peel. Make sure they give you a full explanation of what kind of tint they use, and ask for a sample....this should not be a problem for them, if you have ever seen a tint bay you would know what I am talking about.

I paid $250 cdn for all 7 windows, 54% on the front and 17%...looks good, full warranty, Solarguard tint.
I actually like it better then the 5% I had on the back 3 of the old car, it's not a guessing match when backing up at night anymore.
Thanks for the tip on window cleaner, never heard that before.
