So you had to buy the ebay housings, and a set of m3 projector bi-xonon housings and retrofit them?

So another question as i'm kinda retarded when it comes to headlights, How will it work if i have a dual bulb design opposed to my stock one bulb housings? is the a splitter built into the housing for both bulbs to be connected, as there is only one plug going into the headlight?

on our 9007 plug, there is high beam, low beam and ground. (sorry i forgot which is which lol) you will need to solder a diode (from radio shack) from low beam to high beam (by doing this, you keep the low beam on when you flick on your high beam)

i know it's gonna be hard but picture this, now looking at a 9007 plug custom wiring. you will need to have 2 wires solder to ground (1 for low beam and 1 for high). and 1 wire for low beam and another for high beam. i used different colors for this, it was easier for myself.

for regular HID kits we get, there is only low beam and ground. so i solder the low beam wire to the low beam that i previously made, and ground to one of the grounds from previous.

as for high beam i recommend keeping the same wires you got from the headlight and of course, mod it so that high beam (the one that is connected to the bulb) connects the the high beam you previously made, and connect the ground (it is connected onto the screw for the high beam bulb holder).

and this is basically it for the wiring. if you need more info, there are lots of gurus on HIDplanet.com/forums. so now, good luck! i might be redoing mine this summer, so i'll see if i have time to do a write up. i hope this wiring help

Can anyone confirm that HIDs will melt or destroy non-HID friendly projectors? Will they actually melt?

I'm pretty sure the melting issue is not the main reason why they aren't HID compatible, it's the projector lens' build to use halogen light instead of HID light. HID's in halogen projectors will give off fragmented light and glare all over.

Some are better than others, and most EVO guys who throw HIDs in their stock halogen housings have great luck with them.

My plan is to get regular ebay projectors, low beam HID, and high beam halogen. Will I still have my high beam with HID low beam on the HI/H7 setup?

If the HID light output is horrible on halogen projectors, or the glare is dangerous, I'll look into retrofitting and put my stock ones on in the mean time.

there is no such as a thing as lens is made for HID or not.........in fact it's more of the distance of the lens from the reflector bowl and the reflector bowl itself. the lens are held with some plastic-ish holders off those ebay projectors, stock subaru legacies, the new wrx, and etc. and on top of that, the heat produce by the HID bulb is slightly cooler than the halogens(also varies base on the halogen bulb). the HID light waves travels differently than the halogen light waves. so therefore the reflector bowl is one of the factors. i hope this solve one of the questions.

and about the lens, i actually liked the lens that came with the ebay projectors. they produce a very sharp cutoff and very very good color. not to mention they were wide too. i did this test using my hand to hold the lens and using a E46 (BMW) reflector bowl.

about the wiring, you can keep your low beam on as long as you solder a diode on our 9007 plug. from low beam to high beam. so when you flick your high beam the low beam won't go off. at least that's what i did for mine.

best of luck to you.

is there any chance in retrofitting a D2S into our stock lens?
Also, does anyone have a picture of a D2S bulb?
Thanks

if you do decide to open up ur headlights, make sure you seal it back up nicely. it is "illegal" to open up your headlights and you can get a ticket for it. so yeah.....there is a DIY on hidplanet.com/forums on the angel eyes. check it out.
