Thumbs up Turning on Fogs w/parking lamps!

THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ONLY FOR AN 05 TYPE FUSE BOX

Basically you take a thin wire, I used 24 gauge, stuff one end of it on the bottom right corner connector of the foglight relay, and stuff the other end of it into the
6th hole from the left on the bottom row of the headlight relay box connector.

I love technical electronics.... just shove the wire in the hole. I'd like to know what that 6th hole is, if you have that info, and how this works.

I'll talk to a couple of my friends who are automotive electrical specialists.. this might cause stress on something you don't want i'm not sure.. but i don't want to risk it until i confirm it.

i actually grabbed that thread from the EVO forum and pasted it in RA's because no one seemed to know. I have not tried it but if you search it in the EVO forums i'm sure you can find out more...

well according to my friends they said that since that "jumper" cable doesn't draw any current and it is merely running tell the lights to turn on they think its fine. Also the only concern would be if the fog lights were drawing power with the driving lights through the same fuse but i don't think it is. I'll search and see what i come up with.

So basically you upgrade the amps on the fuse and bingo. Independant fogs
Let me know what you find out.

Found a safer way to do it, to bypass the ECU. The problem with the trick described above is that it disables the fog light switch. I don't like that thought. Now i've been bored at work all day so i did about 3-4 hours of researching through threads and there is someone on this forum that sells/makes a circuit box that'll bypass the ECU so you can litterally turn you fog lights on any time you want. It costs 30$ shipped and the link is below. Personally i don't know if it works for our cars.. this is made for an evo but i don't see why not. But i'll be making one myself and should be done in a week i just need to find a couple more resistors and such to finish the circuit board.

NOTE: That this setup involves capacitors which take a while to discharge after turning the fog lights off therefore creating a several second wait time to turn them back on, but personally i can't complain.. fogs and no headlights is my goal.

Hope this helps you guys and i'll post back when i'm done.

well personally driving in the snow with my headlights that are silverstars just blinds me, my fogs on the other hand are yellow.. so its better to drive with the fogs, so anything to turn them on alone is great.

Also i don't think it looks better, not on our cars at least.. i hate the look of the parking lights.

EDIT:
I will be picking up ALL the parts tomorrow, i'm going to make a couple of them to see if they work on other cars that i wanted to try them on as well. Shouldn't cost more than 30$ tops easy job hardest part is finding where i put my damned solder iron.
