Accolade hood question

I just have to. Its funny how when you inquire about purchasing a new part from a company how quickly they get back to you and how helpful they can be, but when you are inquiring about one of "their" products that "they" sold and claim to be car specific but something is not right, how suddenly that two way communication just stops! Especially when you know they review these threads. Shame on you. I gather us Canadians buy a few of these, considering we do not have the Evo here yet, so everything set aside i am going to make it work and it will be nice, but unfortunately not as a result of help from the manufacture. But from a friendly reader instead. How about a disclaimer on their site about older parts and to be aware of these still in the market for sale? Or better yet, why not recall them if you know they do not fit right? Hmm....I'm no brain surgeon but i know what customer service is and i am not seeing any at all. Regardless who sells your product (aside from private sales) the dealer should be able to go back to this mnf and request a replacement, i am advised this would never happen with this mnf. Shame on you. A reply from a company such as "i don't know" is just sad. So i will do what i can to effect change, i will talk about it, to who ever asks me. This might get toasted, i am not angry or anything, like i said i will make it work, but not what i had paid for is all. thanks again to modern racer for helping me out....200 views and one reply........hmmm

well it's on the car along with the specified equipment for an 02-03 lancer from Accolade including their Extreme Fenders and the Evo VII TS front bumper, but the fitment isn't good and it shakes like crazy with just daily driving...
fitment of the hood not lining up with the accolade evo VII bumper
narrow gap close to the windshield escalating to a larger gap toward the front end
wait... if the alignment was off on the driver's side then shouldn't it be equally off on the passenger's side? why does this side line up??
oh and there is nowhere to prop the hood

^Hoods and fenders need to be aligned proportionally to each other. You replaced your hood and your fenders, but did not align them. On your drivers side, losen the bolts holding your fender. Pull it out until it looks aligned and bolt it down and your done.

that hood is allot different then the one i got, mine only has thone opening on the hood with no seperation, its the evo 8 hood i beleive, i see you use a lay down strut bar, i will have to go that way if i want to keep one on. I had to cut out about 4" from the topn of the hood (underneith) to the front then fiber it back in to make it firm, there are no cut outs like yours underneith the hood, its actually pretty solid and heavy bugger, i have it just about done, i should post some pics if i can figure out how :-) i now have to move the latch because when you latch it down it pulls the hood over to the left, plus the bump stops for the hood cannot be used, then i need to sand down each edge till it meets the sides of the fenders nicely, a ton of work but i am hoping i can pull it off, otherwise, how does fiberglass burn on the fire pit LOL

hes right. if you run out of adjustment on the hood. mess with the fender now. The fitment doesnt look half bad to me. Gaps arnt huge just uneven which can be fixed. Prop rod hole is an issue though. lol

For the prop whole all i did was dremel out a nice little one where i wanted it, then laid a couple small piecie of fiber inside the edge for strength then puddy and sand, looks ok, but will be functional, god i am so happy most of my work is under the hood LOL

ya but there really isn't much to mess with on the fender... if i adjust the front of the fender closest to the body by pulling it in more, the headlight hangs out in the front and if i adjust it anymore where it connects by the driver's side door the plastic cover will not be able to stay on at all instead of the 2 of the 3 connectors that are on now.. i'll try to get some pics up if it doesn't snow tomorrow
