no engine bay shots for me huh? it's ok i got one, i didn't take very many pictures, and the ones i did take are pretty much the same as what Ian posted. Still waiting on vids from the track, and i want to see that GoPro footage!!

here's mine with less dirt than the day before, i went to the track dirty, spent all morning changing springs for the "teens" (S-Tech), but i used the same struts, and ran into a bunch of seized bolts, so it took like 3 hours. Plus the BBQ, i didn't have time for a wash, lol.

Here's all of us from the board:

And the scooby/lancer meet...

This weekend was a big test and it ran great all things considered. The track was HOT!!! something like 35+humidity since it is not inter cooled it I did get a lot of heat soak at high RPM. I only ran low 15's all day due to heat and little traction. LSD definitely needed for track days. You could really see how it hooked up by the final MPH, I was averaging 93-96MPH while the non boosted cars were in the 80's. I only lost one race to Cranswick when I missed 2nd gear, that made a wonderful noise for all to hear...LOL

For daily use its good power but its very noisy for my liking, if you like the noise as many do then this is good for you. FYI Kit now tuned and for sale...this kit only no group buy is organized yet. The funny of the day was the track co-ordinator when I pulled up she said "sounds like you have a birdy" under the hood....right

It was brutally hot at track level, times really suffered. There were many cars at trackside built especially for the dragstrip but most of them only did a run or two while we were there, I think it was just too hot for those old guys with all the $$$. So if you were keen you could get in fifteen runs with your RA no problem.

Brent's supercharged RA needs dedicated front slicks for the 1/4 mile run, that thing just overwhelms normal street tires.

I ended up doing high 15's, it was my first time dragracing. My reaction times averaged around .8 seconds. With a bit more launch practice that should come down by .5 seconds and with a cool September night high 14's if it all comes together.

Cranswick pipped me every time at the finish - curse you, LSD. Or did I leave the air conditioning running?

ha ha, the drag track steward was writing large white identification numbers on our windows, and he gave 2006 RA from Ottawa a big number 69, which was weird because I think the previous car was number 40. The lady in the time slip booth picked up on that and teased 2006 RA about his favorite number.

The road race course was on too, so we all did laps. Everybody was a bit nervous but we all got up to speed after a few times around. No side-by-side racing was allowed, but that is good for track newbies.

All the guys who showed up were awesome to hang with, and OttRalliart was a fountain of blown wisdom. The competition was lighthearted and we had lots of laughs. If you ever want to try your first time on a race track and do the 1/4 mile too, come with us to the next one. The most fun you can have for $25.

And Cranswick's wife is a wonderful hostess, the food was good and lots of it.

I will post a couple of pics later.

Really 15s Brent ? what kinda times were those evos and sti's pulling? Were you burning up rubber through 3rd?

That just seems disappointing, and if heat is the culprit then the supercharger might not be such a good choice for me. The humidity was 72% today and up in the 90s that is pretty normal here. I have pulled high 14s as my car sits now n/a.

I was not getting ANY traction, 1st and 2nd were useless for me. A good indication was the top speed. I was averaging 91-96 with a best of 98mph. The very last run i did was much better I rode the clutch a bit, I did not want to at first because it just got through the break in period. Personal feeling is it will run better with traction. I will be taking it to the local track this weekend I will get more numbers and vids. My last 2 runs were much better as it started to cool down a bit. Not to make excuses but my driving sucked as well I kept bouncing off the red line between shifts and I know that hurt the time but that was driver error.

Cranswick will tell you I caught him half track and just kept going. An LSD would help but the idea to these kits and others is to keep the car as stock as possible, would not be a fair comparison if I had an LSD and gave you those numbers and the average buyer does not.

True, Brent was spinning the tires for half the track, little hook-up. Even I get less wheelspin launching from stoplights on the street than I did on the dragstrip that day.

Ok Brent thats understandable ,I know that racing at the track isn't as easy as it looks. Would adding an intercooler to the kit be possible with the tune that will come with the kit? or would a new tune be required? This has gone through my head from day one hearing about the supercharger.
