Painting My Brake Calipers
#22
I painted my callipers red a week ago. They look great on a black car.
Anyway I used the Dupli-Color caliper paint kit.

I'll post some pics soon.

^^ Looks nice!
If your going to do it make sure that you paint them with specific brake calliper paint, engine paint will not work, as your brakes heat up to temps alot warmer than the engine..

Yep... the Duplicolor kit did a really good job on my brakes. I did that 2 months ago and it still looks awesome (and no overspray worries)! This is really easy to apply too!!! Damn good product... and only 20mins between layers! Yeah baby!
By the way, as I said in another thread before, go buy 2 or 3 good quality thin brushes! The one that comes with the kit is just sh*t!!! But who cares about the paintbrush though...

If you have a drill, you can buy a metal brush mounted on an haxagonal shaft like a drill bit. That way you can scrape rust off... and depending on the kind of paint and the way it was applied, the paint would probably come off too.
There are also some liquid paint removers on the market... but once again, it would be helpful if you knew the type of paint used on the drums so you can be sure the remover will actually work on it.
But clearly, sandblasting the part would be the best option...
