RPW Turbo kit 4G69

Ok due to an over whelming response of emails to me about this I have thought I had better start up a new thread....

As some would know RPW made a few things for my car to go fast headers, cam (did not quiet make it onto my car but they still made them none the less...)intake and exhaust to name a few things... but I had to put the hard word on RPW that I needed my car back very soon - like now.... so we missed a few steps and jumped straight into the turbo side of things...

The turbo kit is very near completetion we are now only waiting for the manifold to come back from being HPC treated and then it is a case of simply bolting it all back together and sending it off to do the tuning much to the thanks of Haltech Australia and RPW for convincing them that this could be something quiet special when finished

To date RPW have updated there web site which shows the manifold and turbo in place and the radiator/intercooler also permanatly fitted, the Haltech E8 is also wired in and is ready to be started up, intake pipes are also done, to help with fueling a new set of large injectors have been install with no mods needing to be done to the fuel rail....

I can see why David at RPW is so pleased with this setup as it is so simple to install I think even i could do it - over the next week or so the manifold will be returned to us along with some pipe work that has been heat treated then it wil be off to get the car tuned and even this will be a relitively simple job to do thanks to the support from Haltech

Have dropped a couple of pics in for those that may be interested and will chase up a pic of the radiator/intercooler

Lets hope that they finish it ASAP! I would like to see the finished proyect and some dynos of that Turbo setup. (I like the RPW "Stealth" IC setup). That way we would have 4 really good F/I options for the Ralliart 4G69: RPW, RRM and custom for Turbo or RIPP for SC!

Turbocharger options will be GT25 320hp for auto models and optional GT25/35 370 / 390hp option for manuel vehicles.

How many PSI is that? and is it whp or fly? that's almost 2x the power RRM is putting out. I guess it's all about the certian turbo used.

I don't think they'll be making that much... rather that's the max that those turbos can make.

Then again, I know nothing about turbos, so I could be completely wrong.

From what I heard they are shooting for 220 - 250 whp on their stage 1 kit.

^ thats what I heard as well. I was really skeptical when I saw those numbers. Our clutch would die faster than a GM. (along with a lot of other parts of our car that would need some dramatic upgrading)

Can't wait to see the #'s with just the turbo kit

The 390hp that was quoted is what the turbo types are rated and capeable of producing... but the numbers that we are looking at will not be that high (not yet anway) and like Ralliart50 has said we will most likely be getting the 220-250hp... it may be more we just don't know until we can get the car on the dyno and get the car tuned - the biggest and most noteable factor that is so different from any other turbo kit out there is the Haltech and what it is going to be capable of doing

For my own personal use i will only have a max of 7psi running thru the car even tho we know that the car is going to be capeable of handling 10psi on stock internals but I do want to save the clutch for a few months and then maybe next year I will look again at improving on what we have - but that is much further down the track at the moment

I will get RPW to add to this as to how the Haltech will be setup in the way of how and when the boost will be applied as it will not be 7psi in first gear but more likely tuned for about 3psi this will reduce wear on clutch - gearbox CV joints etc

Do we have a general price range, other then somewhere between $1 and $1 million?

Seriously, @ 3k, I might be interested in modding my car again...

For anything price related you can either give David at RPW a call or check out his website for all pricing as i am only a satisfied customer - but I would think that pricing would be very competitive www.rpw.com.au davidt@iinet.net

I think I could be 99% certain that RPW when they sell the kit it will have a tune on it... I have read somewere that he has said that it will come with a tune suitable for the mods that you have and the car will be driveable and at some stage later you can take the car down to the local tuner and they will give it a very fine tune which should not take up much time at all probably less than 1 hour....
