Custom Turbo for Automatic

I know RRM has a turbo ready for the automatic and is anxiously waiting for somebody to step up and get the first one done, but since i live in Canada that just isnt realistic. So my question is, what would need to be done to build a custom turbo setup for my Automatic. Parts,setup,insight... anything is appreciated.

Thanks, Muck

^ honestly, the RRM kit is worth the $$, I even drove down to pick it up. and I have to say the kit is super sweet and really works well with the auto tranny.

You can do a custom build. The only 2 components that will be a challange is finding someone to custom fab your manifold, and a good fuel/electronic management system, so far the Greddy system is available but not for mivec, and RRM has the only piggyback, you can spend the big bucks and get an e-management system but it will prove to a not so tweaker friendly product.

RPW sells turbo manifolds now, and you can a piggyback for fuel control from either RRM or RPW.

^exactly, now the rest is simple, IC and piping, dump pipe, oilback pipe, fuel pump, injector, sparkplugs, and hose connectors, silicone hoses , clamps, and BOV and some piping will have to be custom made like the MAF intake pipe, the intake mani pipe.

i just finished my custom Turbo setup about 2 months ago as well and it was a little challenging, but at least this way you get a hands on idea of how everything works and can pick and choose the parts you really want to use, and bottom line is the price, in most cases it will cost you less in the end then buying a kit that is already done for you. Good luck on your project.

Cool turbo man. What parts did you use for engine management?

Yep, it took me about 5 hrs to build it and another 2 to install it, best bang for the buck.

They're a new company so it's hard to say. Keep an eye on the 4G94 forums.
