An old beat up subaru isn't going to get me laid lol. IS300 Will. And a 2wheel drive seden isnt going to give me 10s either. If i put half the money i spent in my ralliart into an EVO. it would be a 10 second car.

I dunno I have plenty of time to think about it. They are just my 3 choices. Thanks for the input.

ive been thinking the same with my car, i dont want to put money into it if its gonna constantly give me problems. ive researched pretty much all options for performance on this car but i might just install the mods i have and wait for the new RA. then when i have another car i can rip apart the current RA and have fun with it. just an idea.

once again im just talking out of my a$$ as usual .

1) When I got my RA my idea was to mod it to beat a stock Evo. My main reason was to race Hondas ( Civics), Acura (Integra), VW ( GTI or Golf), Mazda(Rx-8 & Mazdaspeed 3), Nissan (350Z & Sentra), Toyota ( Celica & MR2) Colbart SS, Saturn With SC & Srt-4. In other words all the front wheel drive cars I can race.

If I wanted to compete agains AWD cars them an EVo or Subie will do. Thats a diffrent class. After the Evo will we go to Top Fuel or Pro Stock? LOL.

No offence but I see 4 to 6 Evos at the races. We have a modded car that you hardly see out there & that can hallass. A sleeper. 12 & 13 are fine with me in a 1/4 mile. Thats me 2 cent here.

Like that thing goes:
turbo $4500
Trip to the races $15
Gas $30
See the face they make when a Lancer beats them PRICELESS...

P.S. Don't trade in the dealer will give you book value. For mine it is $10,000 with 16,000miles. Them what ever you owe will be put in top of the Evo price.

^ +1.

It's all about personal preference for everyone. For me, at a 1/4 mile, 13-14 would be something I'd be happy with for this car.

Also, if you're going to trade in later, I suggest you purchase something that can sell like hot cakes and can hold its value.

For example, here in Australia, a Honda Integra Type R (DC5R) is a car that is in demand and can sell within a few days of listing. Some food for thought.

- I wouldn't recommend trading into a dealer. They will probably give you the same price if you were to have NO MODS in the car. So part-out.

I think the main concern here is, accept your loss and quickly move on. The more you dread, the more you'll probably end up putting more money into the car.

Do any of you guys actually have any dyno numbers? I have a 06 Eclipse with the 4G69 and my turbo is almost done. I've been told that our motor can't handle more than 250 whp. True?

We have had a couple people come right up to 300 whp on the stock internals. Any higher than that, or if you want to run that every day, and you should really look into forged pistons (we already have forged rods) and probably headstuds.

got one guy on here running no timing control turboed at 10 psi for 2+ years on stock internals. he's waiting on something to break so he can go further IIRC. there is a thread in RA general with RRM turbo numbers.

So 250whp is no problem then. I thought so. Actually it was MikeW from RRE who said that rods are really weak and we shouldn't do more than 8psi.(I'm using a T3T4) Got some people discouraged on Club4G. Anyway my project is almost done, just breaking in the turbo for a few weeks and then injectors, fuel pump and AEM FIC are going in + tuning.

yeah, I think I remember him saying that. I also remember him hooking up his wastegate and bov wrong and boosting whatever the engine and turbo could put out. That's what blew his engine (or one of them, right Joe? )

Ya, we can use evo rods but i wouldnt suggest using actual evo rods, as the price you'd probably end up paying will be fairly close to the cost of eagle forged rods. You can use rods from any second gen 4g63 (probably from any 4g63, but the second gens are the only ones that have been provin).
