Trying to finish rrm turbo
Hey guys, I'm sorry if these have already been asked, but I just don't have theyime to look for these specific answers.
Ok, rrm is closed until Tuesday cuz of labor day weekend, but I am trying to get this turbo on before I have to go to school and work this week. I just need a few quick answers to help me finish in good time.
What are the torqe specs for the header nuts connecting the manifold to the block?
My oil pan is stuck on by some super, mega powerful gasket sealant, how did you guys take it off with ease?
What is the 1/2" diameter pipe about 6" long with the orange heat wrap for?
that's all I can think of for right now, but im sure ill run into more questions.
Thanks

Just use a like putty knife or really small flat head screw driver on the pan. Thats what i did to remove it. Dont have a turbo kit so dont know the answer for the pipe. and as for headers i just tightened mine down real good since i didnt have specs. Didnt you get instructions?

The pipe you are talking about is the oil return line. It is heat shielded because it is very close to the exhaust pipe. Take note on where it sits after install. Mine ended up kinking an causing a problem so i had to go with a steel braided flex pipe with a heat wrap on it. It all depends where you end up tapping the oil pan.
As for the torque specs on the manifold, I dont think there are any. Just tighten the bolts good so you don't have leaks.

The thing about the intructions is that it is for the 04 ralliart and it looks like the kit in the instructions is older and very different thatn the one they sent me.

Last question. I hope. The braided line connects to the bottom of the engine block, right above the oil filter, there's a brass adapter to connect the AN fitting. For some reason the adapter's threads aren't catching. Is it smart to hammer it in a little bit then thread it in? How can I fix this?

scratch both those last questions...fixed them myself, had to chase the engine block for the oil feed adapter and got a braided hose line for the oil return
New question, how does the banjo bolt on the other side of the feed hose fit into the turbo? For some reason mine wont fit down far enough to get any threads inside the turbo so it wont stick. please help, i'm so close to finishing this!!!!
