they're connected by the compressor...I didn't think there couldn't be a check valve or the higher pressure would just keep it closed forever...I would empty the low pressure, and then see if I could easily open the servicing valve on the high pressure side with a screwdriver or something...

You might want to put that AC bracket back on. I believe taking it off exposes your timing belt IIRC. You dont wanna risk getting anything inside of there.

I also got that bolt drilled out (easy-out didn't work) and tapped with it's original size, M8 - 1.25...

When drilling out that bolt in the turbine housing, I (***)umed that the hole went through and through the wall, into the housing, but found out after the fact that the others didn't. Is this going to create an exhaust leak around the bolt threads???

Shouldn't, the gasket should seal around the bolt

Gasket, what gasket? I've never run with a gasket, nor ever saw one! The V-band flanges have an option to use a gasket, but only if your pushing upwards of (50) psi, etc.

The guy at LTP Tune, where I purchased the turbo, recommends Permatex high temp copper sealant around the threads only.

Hmm.. maybe it was the alternator bracket i was thinking of. I'll double check when I get home.

And I thing Garrett is talking about the gasket between the turbo and the down pipe.

I figured that as well when I looked up there, but the "bracket" for the alternator looks to be casted onto the engine block. Anyhow, I don't see any issues.

And I thinK Garrett is talking about the gasket between the turbo and the down pipe.
Yep, that's what I'm referring to as well, and I don't use a gasket, just metal to metal and haven't had any issues. Iirc, way back at the beginning of my build, I believe we discussed the same and concluded that either way was acceptable. Obviously, everything is good to go since. I'll coat the threads of the one bolt in question with some of that Permatex when I button this thing up.

Right now, I'm looking for the best place to purchase Ultra Tight Radius Mandrel Bend 90 Degree 304 Stainless Steel 0.84D Exhaust pieces to finish the down pipe. So far, I've only found them on Ebay.

some things are ok to buy on eBay, just be aware of wall thickness when buying pipe. Also I haven't been keeping track of privatized space flight lately...though I did watch the falcon 9 test...pretty exciting stuff, makes me want to get out of conventional aircraft maintenance and get into building space craft... lol

What minimum wall thickness are we looking at for the down pipe?
