No, you wouldn't. All that extra piping would make it useless. Plus, you would have to explain to everyone that "oh, no, I don't have a turbo. It's just my air filter."

apc makes these. it's on their website under performance filters. i would think you'd get just as much, if not more air flow as a cai. instead of the cone filter being in the wheel well, you have it in front of the car pulling air. ??? right?
one thing i saw is that it would block air going to the radiator. not sure though. actually might be a pass through...??
other feedback?

Worthless. The air is travelling too much of a distance. Also, your motor has to suck that much air. A FI motor can suck that much air; as for NA, it can't do it effectively.

think it's time to do some more fabricating in the shop. let's see what we can come up with...
not too OT, but i went to the parts store the other day and they said they don't make a K&N for the RA...i call BS. thought i saw someone had one.

I think these were popular a few years ago, especially with the Civic crowd. There are a lot of problems with this design.
1. The main purpose of it is forced induction, similar to a ram-air. But, as previously mentioned, it's covered over by clear plastic, which defeats the purpose.
2. I would be very worried about sucking more than just air up into it with it mounted that low (no driving through any puddles).
3. It interferes with air flow to the radiator (not sure how much, but potentially a problem for long-distance travel).
4. The length of air travel is drastically increased (also already mentioned).
It's only purpose is to look like an intercooler; but anyone with any sense would be able to tell the difference. You'd be much better served (both in performance and appearance, IMHO) to just spend that money on a cone-style filter. Buscher sells his for the NA Lancers for about $80 I believe--about half the price.
My .02
