RRM CAI broke!!!

I've had this rattle on my floorboard for about a month now. Today it got damn loud! When you start the car, shift hard, turns, etc. The whole time I'm thinking it's the exhaust, but when I jacked my car up and moved it around, nothing!!!

...then I notice my intake is hanging kinda low. So I get to looking at it and it turns out that the "L" piece that blots to the tranny broke!!! So my CAI is like banging everything in site! I ended up doing a temp fix with zippie ties until I can get my professional welder friend to make me a stronger bracket.

Just thought I'd share this with anyone who has a RRM CAI to look out for. Maybe some stiffer motor mounts would help a little too?

Good reminder, I've been getting a little rattling down there but with the injen.
I need to get under there and figure out whats going on. Sucks that yours broke at least you have someone to fix it for you.

You should contact RRM ASAP and see what they'll do. They will usual come to rescue fast... all you gotta do is tell them what's up.

Did it break on the weld or did the metal actually break? I know the weld on my intake looks really weak...

LOL! With all the "Injen CAI is gonna break on you" posts, it was bound to happen to an RRM sooner or later! It's no fun to have a part break on you but sooner or later it's bound to happen to someone, you just normally hope it's the other guy!

Some would think that but the RRM intakes have been out for a bit now and nothing like this has happened. Obviously there was a bad weld or incomplete weld on his CAI. I'm glad that RRM is there to back up their products. Last i knew Injen would never send you a new one and take the broken back??

Big props to RRM for that kindof service and product backing

Rock, that just gave you another sale. With that kind of service, my toss up between Injen and RRM has been decided. Going to go order that CAI right now!

this is slightly off topic but what I have noticed from the guys at rrm on these boards is some pretty kick *** service and they seem pretty willing to back up thier products which makes me feel better when I get my RRM short ram and exhaust. There are a lot of shaddy companies out there when dealing with after market perfromance parts and it is nice to know RRM isn't one of them.

With this being the first to break, I'm guessing a bad weld and not a design problem.
