trouble with RRM piggyback, someone help?
Has anyone had there SES light come on after installing there RRM piggyback? Maybe some of you have ran into and can help shed some light. Okay I installed my piggy 5 days ago. My friend and I soldered the connections and made sure they were solid. We stuffed it in the back of the glove box. We did the installation correct, disconnected the battery prior to installation. Let it idle for 10 mins or so after reconnecting battery, Then without turning it off drove around for like 10-15 mins babying it not going over 3500rpms. Then turned it off and waited like 2 mins and turned back on without no idle problems or anything. Well the first time my SES light came on was 2 days after installation before leaving work i let my car warm up briefly like 10 mins when i went to leave my SES was on. I disconnected my battery and followed directions like i was going to reinstall it checked my connections all were still good. I re-did the idle and driving part. Well now a day and half later while i'm driving to work today my SES light comes on again. Anyone have any idea what it could be? Only thing i can think of is that maybe it's over heating stuffed in the back of the glove box.

wiggle,
there is no heat back there, I've had it back there for over 6 months with no issues. before you say its the piggy, get the code checked be someone so they can tell you where the issue is. could be a bad sensor

the SES has nothing to do with the piggyback unit. maybe the piggy had a bad (or no) original map flashed onto it and is causing the air/fuel to be off. how does the car run and idle? call RRM. they should set you straight. Did you try to reset the ECU again (batter thing)?

I'm at work right now, but will reset it before I go home and re do the driving thing. My idle didn't seem any different. When it came on the 2nd time i was driving and after the light came on my piggy was still working it seemed like for 2 mins or so then like 2 street lights later i noticed that it went back to my old power band. Didn't feel the low end torque increase like before.

I'd get the code read so you know whats going on rather than just taking wild guesses ya know?
Then we can assist you in the problem... don't worry though as we're here to help. Just need to know the code so we can find the problem.
Thanks,
Boe

Yes i've been using 91 for about 3/4 tank before i installed the piggy, when i filled it up with 91 it was after driving for a while with the low fuel light on, well here is a little update. I'm not having anymore problems with my piggy at the moment, and I haven't done anything differently. All and all my SES light came on 3 different times each at about 150 miles or so. And what i've been doing until i had time to sit down and find out the code and call RRM is just disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it and going through the learning period again. I haven't done anything different in the learning period but it seems to have worked itself out. So oh well works for me. On another good note i just order my downpipe should be here with a week or two.
