If i had the LSD in and some better tires probably could have gotten into the 13's.
Talk to some of the Puerto Rico RA guys... They've been able to do some valve tuning and other options and getting way better trap speeds than i've gotten. With my launching and their speeds i'd have been in the 13's.
Don't believe the haters or the nay sayers. It can be done... just need to be patient and work with others that may have some better ideas.
On a side note... the gearing in the RA is acceptionally better than any 1G or 2G i've ever been in. I can see how the car can perform better due to that. I mean it was made to perform with small hp so the gearing under higher hp performs way above most. Much like the tranny in the new evo 9's. It's leaps and bounds better than the 8's. My .02

I think they might be the same tranny though. I think I checked it out with KillahB and the part numbers on the tranny were the same between Ralliart and OZ.
edit: By that piece of info we were wondering why the Ralliart clutches were different to the OZ if the tranny is the same.

Are you sure some of you guys are not taking RT off your ETA?
https://www.evolutionm.net/registry/times.php
ranked 100 = NOS & stock RA at 14.394
ranked 101 = mods + nitto drags, Ra at 14.599
(I guessed these guys are confirmed w/ slips)
As for people in PR, I have to discount some of their myth. US mirage owners have always knew about their exploits, but very few of their mods can be ever verified by a second or third party. Also, we have seen turboed mirages cracking into the 11's w/ their vids, and their mods can be verified . . . someone in the US has nearly the same setup and tuning (unknown on his run). There was even a 13 sec NA mirage, but his mods/specs didn't add up under our microscope . . . we don't even know if he sprayed too.
"Don't believe the haters or the nay sayers. "
I only try to seek the truth. Ask Hobie and some of the lancer vets on this board. I just dislike vendor toadies . . . that's it.
"the gearing in the RA is acceptionally better than any 1G or 2G i've ever been in"
You mean DSM? If so, I'll ask my friend in O-town who drives a RA . . . with basic or friee mods, a DSM can run the top of 3rd gear a little over 100 mph (about redline or so).
One mantra that I live by: "If it's too good to be true, it usually is."

i know the tranny has the same part # but the gearing is different. i'll have to look it up but i think that has already been verified.
as for bahamut. believe what you will. but i think the ra is definitely capable of a 13sec pass na without adding anything extra to the block. now the head is different, i believe some port/polish and a cam would work wonders!!!! put it this way, people said i could get my 95 sohc vtec civic into the 13's on motor. i did. i'll do it with the RA as well.

My run basically backs up the PR guys as well. It can be done.
And about the 100mph in 3rd gear comment. Sometimes it's better to shift and keep torque high than to have a long gear with a wider varience in torque curves. Also you're comparing a turbo'd cars driving to NA. I did the same but to say that the TURBO's Ra does better due to it's tranny than any other dsm i've been in besides a supra.
Of course the tranny is the same for turbo or not in the RA so NA if you can get the power you can get the times. This fact contributes to many of my evo friends losing in a race off the roll. The power is there but the gearing is in my favor. However i've found that the new 9 kills me even stock! That's gotta change

Here are the slips that a G93 NA mirage had done in PR . . . We, miragers, don't doubt his other regular mods until he claimed of using 100mm pistons, which is impossible. 100mm bore = same as the largest 4 banger ever in production (3.0L, 4 banger) as in the Porsche 944/968 . . . stroke is close to the G93. Mathematically, when we calculated his diaplacement, he was getting about 2.7 liter.
See, laws of physics aren't broken here (also, mirages are much lighter). Look at the 60' . . . on/under 2.0 sec. You must attain 270-300 crank HP for the RA or FWD DSM to crack the 13's. C5 vette = 300 HP. E8 = 270-280 HP. 300zxt = about 300 HP.
With 215.2whp = (+15% correction for crank HP) 247.5, you need at least +33 crank HP to even stand a chance.

Past vid of a turbo G93 mirage in PR. The guy has gone much faster now in the 11.1x sec or around there.
Otherwise, I have no beef againt people in PR. They have led the way for mirages, but there is way too much rumor-mongering on mods like a G93 using a 6g72 ecu . . . never confirmed over there and here. Now, the new rage is using a 95 DSM ecu in lieu of the G93 ecu. None one here even confirmed it too.
Example: I can spout off that I have created cold fusion; if other scientist can't duplicate the same experiment using my notes, I'll be cast as a fake in the scientific community. How come in the car community the standards aren't set this high?
As for the tranny, if the RA uses the same tranny as the ES/OZ/G93, rpm will limit the top of 3rd gear. The redline of a DSM is much, much higher.
G93 redline = 6500 rpm. Fuel cut = 6750 rpm or so. Much shorter stroke than a G94. The only motor that somehow defies the laws of phyics = H22 of the Prelude. It has one of the longest stroke and can crank high rpms, especially the JDM motorl.

If this site is correct . . .
Gear Ratiosfor a RA
1: 3.583:1
2: 1.947:1
3: 1.379:1
4: 1.030:1
5: 0.820:1
Final drive: 4.058:1
If the site is correct, . . .
http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t70...anny-specs.htm
Engine- 4G93- 1.8L - FWD
Trans code- F5M22
1st- 3.454
2nd- 1.947
3rd- 1.285
4th- 0.939
5th- 0.756
Reverse- 3.083
Final- 4.592
Speedo gear ratio- 28/36
Same tranny code as DSM but different gear ratio and final drive. Just too lazy to search my mirage site . . . I know plenty of times that our gear ratio was put out there.
