Update:

Paid for the Camshaft and Cam Gears today. Spoke to Dave from RPW and he said the Camshaft will be sent out the very day he recieves them which should be tomorrow or the day after.

The profile as mentioned by Dave, will be aggressive.

If I'm there, of course I'll video it! Hehe.

Most of the time, I have to drop it off and then goto work, or perhaps maybe, take a day off work!

I was wondering, after doing further research on Camshafts and Cam Gears, most of the threads were relating to:

- Poor gas milage
- Mivec point
- Rough idling

But in particular, I'd like to also discuss the first two points.

1. With installation and extensive retuning, can we maximise whp/tq with maintaining a reasonable amount of gas milage? Who here reckons we should throw more fuel at mivec point? Considering most of the time highway driving reaches 3500rpm (Don't drive highways too often), this probably won't be good, but what are your thoughts? More in the upper range?

2. Also with the new camshaft installed, and with retuning, will the mivec point change? The reason I ask this is because I read somewhere whilst searching the threads that generally the mivec switchover will change slightly to a higher rpm range, i.e 4000rpm+

Shed some light people

mivec point hasnt changed for me, and yes more fuel from mivec up would be great. especially at the changeover. i dont know how your piggy works but RRMs only takes over when your at WOT so unless your really driving it your not using that extra fuel so your gas mileage wont change much unless you drive like your fast and the furious everywhere you go

So got the new 3" 3A Racing Pod Filter. Nothing special.

Well, I take that back. This filter went up against well known brands such as Apexi, K&N, HKS and came out number 1 for air flow with 601.2CFM and 2nd to K&N for filtration.

The good thing is, this is for a fraction of the price!

Update:

Was expecting the parts to be shipped out today as estimated by RPW but the camshaft and cam gears haven't arrived at RPW. As mentioned by Dave, the parts should arrive today/tomorrow and be shipped same day.

Will recieve them definitely by next Thursday/Friday and I'll take pics for all you lovely people

Will keep you all updated.

I wonder how much it would cost to get these parts shipped to the US.. i'd be interested in it, i plan on doing a head build soon.

Also what's the name on that intake filter you picked up, my K&N cone is nice, but its 3/4 the size of the stock RRM one and well i think its time to replace it..

Not sure on the shipping price, but perhaps you can either PM Mitisman or go through their website and ask.

Update

Okay so the package has arrived in the shape of machine gun. So at least the postman reckons. (I don't blame him, the thing weighed so much it could pass for a sub-machine gun)

Recieved Below:

1. Stage 2 Profile Camshaft
2. Vernier Cam Gear

Here is a picture of the Camshaft and Cam Gear with the new 3" Pod Filter and Oil Filter.

Next Step: Add new oil, oil filter and bolt on the new pod filter.

Then all I need to do is ring the tuner and set a date for these parts to be installed and tuned. Then we'll have ourselves a mivec-rocket hitting the streets
