Ignition Coil Upgrade.....

I found on the internet a brand SparkTech that makes coil on plugs for evo 8, Is there a way to fit these on our cars even if we have to cut and connect certain wires ourself?

Our cars already come with coil-on-plug style ignition.

how much voltage? Then we can see if it is an upgrade.

10,000 - 20,000 more volts it said something like that. I'm not sure if our coils give out the same voltage as the evo coils but I would think so, as long as it's more power, make sure to burn all that fuel.

I don't really know what the output is for the evos. Considering that the evo 8's use plug wires i would be guessing about 60-80K secondary voltage. So you are saying these are above 80k? No need for even slightly modded cars unless you are running high compression or a high amount of boost.

well it showed a picture with coil on plugs on the evo even though every evo I've seen had plug wires. As long as it's just alittle over our stock coil output it would be a nice upgrade, not that it's needed but if you choose to.

Pointless mod for most. I'd also doubt that they'd even fit, since the depth of the spark plug hole is likely different between the two engines, seeing that the Evo has a head with the plug in the center, and ours is off to the side.

thats true, that just sucks that there is no ignition parts for the ralliart out there. maybe open the coil plug and switch it out something extreme like that.

There aren't any parts because there aren't any need for the parts.

Im gonna agree I dont have a ralliart but I have a 4G with the 69 in it and there is a reason Mitsu went to the coil type. There is no need to upgrade

our coils suck! if they get humid they fail...here in pr theyr a problem....our solution is to switch to Corvette coil on plug system where it's 4 lil coils(box type) with a cable going till the sparkplug.
