P1020 Help

Been getting the P1020 code lately. and i see this code is listed as a mivec issue for mitsus. Been trying to find the oil valve thingy that controls the switchover in the head(the litle gold thing) but cant find it online anywhere. anyone know where to get one?

P1020 Help

The oil control valve is very expensive and I could not find it anywhere online. I believe it may be a dealer only part.

Instead of the oil control valve, I replaced the oil pressure switch located on the driver's side of the head.

My local AutoZone listed the part for $36.99 but it is special order. Duralast part number PS656. My local Mitsu dealer had it in stock for $25.97 out the door. Part number MN137360. Ask for the oil pressure switch located on the head.

Really easy fix. Less than 15 minutes. I diconnected the battery to reset the cel, removed the airbox, put some teflon tape on the threads and was good to go. Do not over tighten. No leaks and with over 2 hours of driving on it and no cel so far.

Thank you but I figured I have learned so much from the RA community here, I would contribute something that I have had first hand experience with.

If someone needs a write up on how to remove their wheels, I am sure I could whip something up.

I guess this post isn't as helpful.
