Our engines disagree with the concept haha. It's been attempted before but no one has ever been able to finish it (I'm sure it would be documented here if someone has). It is especially hard to ITB a 4g69 when it comes to the ecu and figuring out engine management.
Would be a PITA for sure, probably more costly then it would be worth to follow through with

This is just a thought out off my *** I had one night drinking but...
What about an ITB setup with velocity stacks using a non Mivec 4g63 head off an VIII stuffed with high compression pistons coupled with a stand alone.
It would be a task for sure. Both assembly and tuning wise. I think it would be worth it for the powerband achievable not to mention the uniqueness of the build.
Ooh and there is that awesome sound such an engine would make.
Thoughts?

Im not sure if a 63 head will fit on a 69 block (if it does ) and if I have to do a head swap I mine as well swap the entire motor to a 2.0L.
Is there any stand alone system out there that works good with the Mivec 4g69? Custom fabbing an intake would be a challenge but I think i could do (cant be much more difficult than hooking 2 or 3 carbs togther)

Sure it's possible if you've got about $15k to spend. It would need a standalone, would idle like crap, wouldn't be very streetable but man would it make a lot of noise. I normally tell people ITBs are for race cars.

I know stand alones aren't cheap. If i do go ITB route the motor would be getting and most ridiculous cam i could find for the head with an adjustable cam gear. Do you know where to start looking for a stand alone? i've done a little looking but haven't found anything.
