Thanks guys, i was hoping to have it all done and drving this long weekend, but i still don't have that damn plastic cap for the transmission. but most of the hard stuff is done, i'm confident the timing is bang on, and later on last night i installed the intake manifold and throttle body as well, I'll probably bolt up the tranny today and obviously i just won't fill it...i'm just about ready to start reconnecting water lines and plugging in sensors.
About the cam, lanzer, how much are they i'm not really diggin the idea of pulling mine out again for a regrind, will they accept mine as a core after i receieve the new one?

It doesn't really work by core, they will work on yours and send it back. It's like 93 bucks shipped, not bad compared to 600 plus shipping :/ Micheal doesn't have an extra cam laying around? Depending on when you are wanting to have the car running the turn around time is usually a week.

that's a great price, but i'm a little beyond that point as the engine is already timed, but i'm almost positive mike's got a cam kicking around, he did pull some valves for me, even though i later discovered mine were not damaged, but he forgot to bring them by anyways, lol...It would be a nice upgrade though, but at this point i'm focused on having her running again, and gettting my turbo build on the go.

first of all, for gundum, the blox front mount i think is universal, and you can buy them everywhere blox products are sold. i know the rear mount for auto has a different part number, but looks the same, however if you want a solid rear mount you have RRM mounts, or do it yourself. And no, changing the timing belt is not hard at all, and contrary to the manual you don't need any special tools.
for ralliartrob, as said above the timing belt change went pretty smooth, if i was only doing the belt changed i would have been done in a few hours, crank, idler and water pump pulleys have to come off, before the lower timing cover comes off, and you'll need to remove passenger side motor mount to put the new belt on, i just cut the old one. Other than that it's really straight forward, just make sure all the timing marks line up.

What do you mean ? Is there some technique where you use the old belt to get the new belt installed easier ?
Sorry in advance if I just misunderstood your post.

No no no, lol, the timing belt goes around the cam gear right? it also goes around the passenger engine mount, which is right below the cam gear. When i took the stripped belt off, i cut it so i could get the head off, ASAP to get it to a machinist. but either way, if you remove the old belt in one piece, or put a new one on, you have to take the motor mount off, it's easy the big bolt on the body side, and 3 smaller bolts on the engine side, and the plate comes off, the other mounts might hold the engine, but you should support the oil pan. it's more of a bracket
not my engine but i'm not home to take a picture

LOL, ok cool. I did my timing belt last month and I took off the engine mount. Then when I saw your comment I was wondering how in the world does that work ???
I spent a long time trying to figure that one out.

well, it's been a while...First of all, a big thanks goes out to Nick (RalliartN) for stopping by this morning, basically i forgot how some hoses and stuff were connected, and the manual is a little ambiguous at times, so he made the trip down to help me out so i could compare his pristine car to my shyt show...And the coffee was a bonus...
But i'll tell you, in my experience it's hard to find someone that'll help you install a flywheel and clutch in the pouring rain, thanks again Nick, you're one of a kind , lol
Well after Nick left, my other friend Ghislain dropped off some tools for me, like tap & die, and some feeler gauges. So i called my brother in law again, and had him come help me with the tranny, 2 guys and a garage jack works pretty well if you are decently strong. Getting around the mounts is the biggest pain in the ****.
So i worked at it all day today, and she's basically ready for fluids and wheels, after i fill and bleed the brakes of course, which is easier without wheels.
some pics for y'all who are interested...
Clutch installed, still raining at this point (car outside if you haven't been following)
Transmission installed, not as hard as some would make it out to be, but make sure you have a safety buddy, it's a good idea, not only for the preservation of your existence, but also makes things go a bit faster and easier with 2 pairs of strong hands. Soon after the CV shafts were in and i could see the finish line.
By night fall this is what i have accomplished, not pictured, but the brakes are installed as well, ready for wheels all around thanks to my brother in law, couldn't ask for a better family to weasel my way into. thanks josh, even though you'll never read this.
Blox front mount, can't wait for the massage

So far it's not leaking, i will be upgrading the CMC as per your recomendation, but the clutch pedal pressure feels great, the LSD is like night and day compared to stock, even in a straight line, no torque steer, and cornering is a joy, you can actually accelerate through a turn, and understeer is greatly reduced, if not eliminated at above normal cornering speeds...also even just daily driving, pulling out 90 degrees into fast moving traffic does not lead to wheel spin. The blox front mount, the vibration is minimal, and with the window weld in the rear mount, the engine does not move, lol. all in all the way the car drives now, with the reflash/tune, LSD, mounts and clutch...it feels like this is how mitsu should have made a FWD if they were going to put a RalliArt badge on it.
Between the LSD and the mounts though, the power the engine is capable of definately makes it to the road. HP numbers are nice, but hooking up off the line, and between shifts makes the most difference out of any mod you can throw at this thing.
Got a video on the way.
