Tranny gone
Well it finally happened. I wasnt even driving hard.
Was behind a school bus an i took off in 1st then when i went to put it in 2nd it wouldn't go. I limp the car to work an it wont go into 2nd even if the car is off. Reverse is acting funny too. If i have it in neutral an let off the clutch the car lurches just a bit. Sucks

So even though you'll get a new tranny, do you have any plans to open the broken one to see the carnage (and maybe get some info as to other gears that may be swappable or even beefier parts like synchros, etc.)? I've always wondered if it were possible to convert our trannies into 6sp for that overdrive gear.

Maybe we can exchange the final gear with some other tranny?

if double clutching was so cool, they wouldn't have invented synchros LOL!
i granny shift, it's OK, you're not alone...
so crack your tranny open already, i'm curious as to what the problem is, if it's a relatively simple fix, you can rebuild the tranny for cheap and sell it to recover some funds...it'll be a good learning experience anyway...
for myself, it's my first time inside a transmission, pretty wild looking, but fairly simple when it comes down to it, everything in there has a part number, and if it's broke it should be pretty obvious...

Well in PR many people do "trick out" their tranny with mirage ls tranny's. Also ive read here that some people have experimented with making the RA a 6speed but as far as I know only the evo MR has the 6speed tranny and its not exchangeable.
Maybe we can exchange the final gear with some other tranny?

From the mirage LS I got a friend that put some gear parts to his RA tranny. Also the LS tranny fits on the RA with a modification for it to bolt on....so maybe it works the other way around.
Le metio piņoneria de tek....creo que le cambio la tercera pa ayudar.
