4g69 w/28,000 Miles!
Today I went out to compare the two 4g69 engines since my stock one in my Ralliart gave out on me. But I noticed that the new engine that came has an alluminum oil pan instead of the stock cast iron one. The block is also black over the Ralliart cast iron silver so I don't know whether or not if it is oem black or enginesandtransmissions.com took the extra time to paint it lol. Wednesday I will be having it put in from a mechanic and he was telling me that he needs to swap my Ralliart one with the oil pan on the new engine. Can anyone narrow down which 4g69 for Mitsubishi's came with an alluminum oil pan and if I will be able to keep it on there without any problems?

Thanks for the quick response. I am trying to get pics sent to my phone to download now. Side by side they look identical other than the oil pan on the new engine is alluminum and looked to be not as wide as the Ralliart's. The block is also coated black. So far I can only come up with the Outlander's having an alluminum oil pan. I am running OBX headers so with a slightly different composition, I'm wondering if I am going to run into any problems as far as clearence or the install.

Now I am confused. So this guy on the above thread has the same engine I just received but I don't know if his is from a Ralliart or if my original engine from a 2004 differs between years because he has the same oil pan and black engine block

Thanks! The block on the left looks black in the pictures but I can't really tell what the oil pan looks like on it. I just don't want this guy to be swapping a perfectly good oil pan out that came with the engine with my old blown engine.

Alright, finally have a pic of the real thing. Anything that is obvious that can be narrowed down to which vehicle it came from?
