What oil is the best?

I need to change the oil to my new Ralliart and I was wondering what kind of oil is best for our cars? Simple question, I used the search but couldn't find anything.

While I agree with Dacib (I personally use royal purple) but everyone is going to say what they use is the best. You should look into what your needs and driving characteristics are , then research on an oil that will give you what your looking for. Do a search as I'm certain there are threads on this

Keith we should meet up sometime, I am in Somerville. As for oil, I used Amsoil 5w-20 for the motor and BG Synchroshift II for the transmission. It's a solid combo...the amsoil is good for 10K+ miles...it also helps with the brutal winters we get up here.

We definitely should! But let me tell you that I'm only 17. Haha. And Amsoil? And the BG Synchroshift II; how much is it? I'm planning to flush all my fluids at 95K because I just got the car and I want to start fresh and yeah.

My driving style is average you could say? I only go cruisin' on weekends and drive to work and drop off my little brothers during the morning on weekdays. Is there any benefit of the two? I've found some but they just list like random oils for transmissions and it's mostly evo stuff so I'm trying to get the more in-depth answers you know what I mean?

I also use AMSoil synthetic 5w20. for gear oil, i prefer penzoil/GM synchromesh (same shyt) for the transmission, cause i can buy it locally, but any 75w90 gear oil i find works ok.

I use all Amsoil in my RA and never had an engine failure and transmission failure. Everyone has their own preference. Im an Amsoil dealer and ive been using it for the past 15years. All 10 of my vehicles use it and never had issues. Castrol and mobil1 are good as well... RP and redline are good also. Both have high viscosity. All depends on how much you want to spend and what you want to do.

I guess AMSoil is the oil I'm going to buy then. How many quarts do I need for a full oil change?

It seems like a lot of people use AMSoil so I'm going with that. Thanks for the info.

5 quarts of amsoil and a filter will run you about 50-60 bux. You can buy BG Synchro for about 35 bux shipped from Burschur racing. it's expensive oil, but your car will truly appreciate it.

Keith if you need any local help with your car feel free to PM me.

Do you have a facebook or something? I have a ton of questions I would like answers too that the forum can't handle. Haha.
