Exhaust Question

So, after we installed my OBX header and downpipe we realized that my stock piping from the axle back does not quite reach the muffler. It seems like I have two options: get a muffler shop to bridge the gap, or ditch the muffler for straight piping. Which should I do? No flaming, please. I'm asking for a reason.

Straight pipes sound awful on 4 cylinders. Chop the end off the "downpipe" and extend it. Don't hack up the OEM stuff.

I had no problems with my obx header/dp. I would take it to a muffler shop. The gains, if any, would not be noticable and the sound would be horrible.

Thanks for the help, guys. I'm currently sitting in the Libby of the muffler shop getting the piping extended to reach the muffler. The header and downpipe are nice. It does pull a tad bit harder.

Honestly, mine sounds completely fine. There is no difference in sound than when the stock header was on. My exhaust is stock the rest of the way back, with the exception of my aftermarket muffler.

The bends look close but I'm not 100% that's even the correct picture for representation. Your better off getting a murder and a resonator and going to a local muffler shop and getting it installed. I'm sure it would be cheaper than 500 bucks plus shipping
