To machine or not machine this flywheel??

Give em opinions guys im not really sure this flywheel / clutch is the oem as far as i know has just under 100 000 on it and ive been pretty good, never slipped much and always held torque never course raced or 1/4 miled just street driven :P

this is my clutch disk oem exedy being replaced with an oem exedy

flywheel surface

flywheel surface close up

best straight edge i could fine placed directly across entire width of the fly wheel doesn't appear any light coming through any where across the FW.

Give me some opinions guys

well lets put it this way.... why risk effing up your new clutch and all the time and money spent on it by cheaping out on $50.

when in doubt, just do it.

Send it out to be machined. Do not take that chance. I had mine done even though the machine shop said it wasn't completely needed. If you're gonna do something, do it right.

The ruler shows the disc surface is indeed flat but that surface might be worn at an angle to the other surface area of the clutch that mates against the crank or that surface might not be worn perpendicular to the bore. Machining will true all these with respect to each other. Do it.

I think he means he's in the process of changing the clutch out in the garage, and is wondering if he should get the flywheel machined or not before continuing.

I would say get it machined no matter how flat it looks, take the break, and continue when you get it back.

i cant even get 1 flywheel bolt off so unless i can get a friend to help me itll probably stay on lol , i did clean it a bit and look at it closer and still no marks at all shes smooth as a babies bottom no cracks heat marks noda, i understand it could have an odd warp/wear to it but unless i can get it off i dont really have an option and if it was warped or worn in at an angle i think i would see some bit of evidence.....that flywheel is on tight son

I've done a few clutches and never machined the flywheel, I would skip it.
The only time I've taken a flywheel to a machine shop was to get it lightened.
