RPM shift point, when do you shift? 06
I have a 2006 Ralliart and am curious at which RMP the car should be in for shifting. For myself I shift around 2500 rpm as thats what it "feels" like the car likes most. However since I have only been driving it for a few months i want to be sure I am not doing any harm. I should note that when I shift into 2nd from 1st, sometimes its smoother, other times its not and thats shifting at the same 2500 rpm. Someone told me to shift at 3500 rpm but on my car, 3500 rpm in 1st gear sounds like the engine is working to hard and doesn't shift smooth.
What are your shift points? What are your thoughts on this?

I do have it, it shows minimum speed, however when I shift at the speeds it suggests ie 25km/hr from 1st into 2nd, it feels like I'm shifting too high, the car sounds and feels like it's being over worked.

Unless you have a sickly Ralliart, what the car is actually trying to tell you is to PUT YOUR FOOT IN IT AND GIVE IT SOME.
Have you even found the rev limiter yet ?????
Seriously, just drive according to however you feel at the time. The recommendations in the manual are for the break in period I believe.

I still find the throttle difficult to control from idle to about 1200 rpm, and that's after 4.5 years and well over 100 000 km. Only car I've had this issue with. You barely look at it and the engine goes racing away, probably have to sneak up on it with a light flywheel, but I still want one.

I got used to driving in first gear I'm almost always in traffic and so I don't have to keep shifting / going into neutral I just keep it in first... I used to be able to put it in gear give a small amount of gas and it would carry itself steady at 5mph without giving it gas just rolling along but now with the solid front mount it kinda jerks but I can still keep it steady..
