My trick to gettin the gears in is to clutch and wait a bit by the gear gate and then put it all the way in after a short delay. It works wonders even though I need new synchros. Takes the grinding away just though I'd share that.

Cheers bro!

@ Nekkidlad,

Search on youtube for Drohntal uphill hairpins - Mini.

Those turns would all involve dropping to 1st while moving about 25mph.
I had a Mitsubishi Colt GLXi model CJ4A that was just orgasmic on roads like that.

the difference with this is your not going to first to slow yourself down your goona use it to go up the hill so u can match the revs and then give it gas not try and engine break

Regardless it can be done, to slow down, you match revs then close the throttle. Same as gearing down to any other gear, any adverse effects are from improper technique.

just youtubed it...see the thing is that's racing...
i understand that...theres all sorts of things ud think of doing that dont quite make sense...but work while racing...
im trying to figure it out while normal DD-ing...downshift to 1st...not useful...

thats probably why your explanation doest make sense to me...
at 25 ur already in 2nd and theres no need to downshift unless u need to shove and grind in 1st to re shift to 2nd in a ridiculously short ammount of time
