I think your confusing the intake manifold with the exhaust manifold. The oem header isn't restrictive at all it's even made with stainless steel which is better than most other oem setups that are cast iron. The oem downpipe is where all of the restriction is from the crushed pipe design to the 20 pound catalytic converter. You can get the obx header/downpipe combo and a high flow cat (to be welded in) for around the 300-350 dollar range. If money is the issue, then just go to a muffler shop and tell them to replace the crushed pipe and replace the oem cat with a high flow cat. That should be around the the 100-150 dollar range.

http://www.carid.com/2004-mitsubishi...it-305667.html

The one with the hood scoop not the oem one
And yes that hood will fit the description says "2004-2006". All lancers es, ls ,oz and ralliart share the same hood.

Yes. We had a D.p. Only at one time but Mitsu kept changing things from 04-06. By then we had the header/d.p to fit all. We still have it. IF demand goes up, we will make another small batch of them. They have become expensive to make in small quantities and the demand is low but still there. The header did kick *** though and you could add a HF cat to it too.

Defainlty gonna look into ordering the header and downpipe and having the high flow cat welded in, it all just bolts on after that right?

yes it all bolts in and the we have the coolest mini style HF cat to weld into it. If you want to order, call us and proceed with the order. We will not charge the card until we get a 2nd order so ANYONE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS GET IT ORDERED and we will proceed with making them again. Thanks RRM

The d.p. fixture we had only fit 04s. This is why we went to complete header to fit all years plus the header did triple the power gains that the d.p. did. Either way it is the better way to go and worth the money. It was very successful part for us over the years.

Not true ROCK it fits the 2005 because it been on my 2005 for 7 years now

Also there was a dyno comparison some years back and the headers/downpipe combo only got a few hp over the downpipe alone but it lost tq. I remember because I was holding out for the header/downpipe combo but you guys said that there wasn't any need and the downpipe was good, soon after the header/downpipe combo came out. That dyno made me not so concerned about the difference. I think you must be confusing this with another car because the downpipe was good for around 10 hp and getting 30 hp from a header downpipe is hard to get with a V8 let alone our I4 .

It has been quite a while but there are some 2005s they do not fit. It has to do with production dates. I forget the dates since it has been so long. Hey, wow, we are both right, or we are both wrong.........

you decide.

Found a site that sells the tricot 3 ct spray can kit for 70 with shipping. Dad used to paint cars said for the lip it shouldn't be to bad he would do it.
Also vinyl wrapping the hood next weekend if my order comes in on time. Ordering a spoiler to paint with the leftover paint and some eyelids I'm gonna do pretty cool pictures probably coming soon to the show and shine thread
