Lancer Railliart or V6 Eclipse
What is quicker/faster stock for stock and with mods?
The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart or 2000-2005 V6 Mitsubishi Eclipse (GT and GT-S)

Well...stock for stock...probably the eclipse (you talking about the spider or the coupe though?)....and faster to what 60 or the quarter? If its a quarter then a RA might take it.
As far as w/ mods go....I couldn't tell ya....depends on what mods. If your thinking I/H/E...then I would think the eclipse might have a slight tuning edge as SOME of the RA has already been optimized (like the headers and the exhaust piping)....whereas the eclipse might benifit more from those mods....

i raced my buddy's 2000 eclipse gt with intake and exhaust and he took me everytime. i didn't have any mods. we went to the track and he did i think a 15.6 for his best (also first time at the track) i did a 16.0(second time running at the track) i was pissed. i wanted 15's so bad.

I have beat V6 eclipses before off the line and if you are looking at new cars stock for stock then I would save the $8-9K and get a ralliart. You could almost get an EVO for the price of a new GT-S

if u wana tune it, get either the RA or a gen2 or gen1 4cyl eclipse. really hard to fit much into the v6 eclipse engine bay. or wait a year until the GS eclipse gets the same engine as the RA. then decide if u want the small form of the eclipse or the every day utility of the RA. both should perform about the same.

I'm pretty sure that the Eclipse if faster, and I think it also has a bit more top end.
And don't forget, the Eclipse does it pretty effortlessly. The engine hardly ever breaks a sweat. It's a cruiser, not a racer. You don't get very much sensation of speed.
We've had stock V6 Eclipse GTs break into the 14s, but it takes a good driver. Low 15s for the average driver.
if you can shift like this, you can hit 14s (and no, that's not me)

Ok Ok....I have owned both (2002 GT and 2004 RA). First off, you can fit A LOT into the GT engine bay (see RIPP modified for a SDS and someone makes a turbo kit for it).
Stock vs Stock (I'm talking MT here, no Auto-stick crap), the 3g eclipse GT owns every time. Higher torque and hp, even though weight is an issue w/ the 3g.
With mods vs mods.....again the 3g (assuming SDS for the 3g and RRM turbo for the RA) the RIPP SDS adds about 80-85 hp and torque which ups the hp to about 280 @ the crank. The RRM turbo I believe adds about 60-75 hp? For about 220-240 @ the crank for the RA.
I think we are really comparing apples and oranges here......until the 4g comes out....then you will have the same engine (4g69) in 2 different platforms (Eclipse GS and RA). The 4g69 will be highly tunable in the future with these options.

Price of the Eclipse GT is about 25k....RA is about 18-19k.....EVO about 34k
Almost an EVO for the price of the GT? Yeah, I almost have the extra 9k laying around for the EVO.

The EVO RS is $28499. base msrp. The eclips gts is $24899 and the spider gts is $29749. So what I was saying is right. You could get an evo for just a little mor then a gts $3600 the be exact.
