Mitsubishi warranty?
Well, I bought my 2005 Lancer Ralliart on August 2004 (it was a 3 year warranty by then), and I asked for an extended 2 year warranty, so total was 5 year. Evrything was fine.
But now, I just noticed that on it's Canadian website, in the warranty section, it's written this:
2 Warranty coverage applies to new owners of new Model Year 2004 and 2004.5 vehicles sold on or after 10/25/2004 and all Model Year 2005 vehicles.*
Now that they changed the term of it... the extra warranty I got seems useless now that it's included in the 5 year by Mitsu.
What's going on for my extra warranty? Is it a waster of 1K$? Any of you are in the same situation?
I contacted my dealer, and he didn't now what to say.
Sorry for my english... it's my second language.
thx,
Mat

You need to discuss this with your dealership. If you paid $1k for the extended warranty that you already had included in the deal for free, sounds to me like your dealership owes you $1,000. They're not going to let go of the money easily, though. You may have to either take this up with Mitsu Corp. or bring a lawyer into it, depending on how cooperative your dealership is.

No, I misexplained myself...
I got my car in August 2005, and at that time, the warranty publicised by mitsu was 3 years. The dealership had no idea what was going to be the 2005 model warranty. 2005 model weren't in america yet. (I got one of the first 2005 model) I had to wait 2 weeks for the first shipment of 2005 model.
And when Mitsu decided to do advertising, they changed their 2005 model warranty to 5 years. But my contract for the extra warranty was already signed.
From what I understand, I have a 2005 model, so I have the 5 year warranty, but because I signed an extended warranty contract for 2 years (year #4 and #5 at the time). these last two year are now covered by the Mitsu warranty.
My questions are:
Will Mitsu extend my warranty to 7 years?
Did I just lost 1K$?
Did I made a mistake and my car isn't covered for 5 year because I gought my car too early?

It is recommended that you go to the dealership you purchased the car from and speak to the Manager. Tell them the story and demand in a polite way that you want to know what will be done.
1) Either you get your money back for the extended warrenty or
2) They extend your warrenty to 7 years. (Get that in writting... no excuses)
They may not be able to give you an answer right away, but they will know who they have to contact to find out. If they tell you that they will have to get back to you, make sure you leave your number and get the Managers business card. If you do not hear from them within 2 days call the Manager back and ask whats taking so long. Eventually you will get your answer. Most dealerships suck. They are only interested in money and could care less about you once you are out the door. Fight for your rights. You gave them money... they owe you.
