launch at about 2500RPM to start. let the clutch out slow, but just fast enough so that the tires spin a little bit. dont nail the gas right off the line, too. otherwise you will just spin and not go anywhere for a few seconds. as you let the clutch out, start giving it gas slowly until you are fully gripped. then nail it if you get no spin at all, its called a 'rolling start' and is typically pretty slow. you want to spin while moving for the first few feet, then when the tires grip, it slingshots you forward really fast.

when you shift, shift as fast as you can, but dont take ur foot of the gas the entire way between gears. by keeping the rpms a bit higher than where you will be when you re-engage the clutch, you can get a bit more power after the shift.

thats about it =) have fun!

You did a thousand times better than I did.

My first run I sat there spinning the tires; I just PUNCHED the gas and popped the clutch like I was trying to lay rubber. AND I missed second.

My second run I spun the tires again, but not QUITE as bad as the first time. BUT, I missed third.

Third run I didn't make any MAJOR mistakes, but still only ran a 16.001.

Horrible night.

Woke up to a flat rear tire.
Still had fun though.

i started launching around 2500rpm until I was good enough to never get worse than a 2.35 60' and 15.6 ET. After I got my exhaust I started launching at 4000. now i get a 2.2 60' almost every run, but its a lot harder to slip the clutch that high and not spin too much. you want just a bit of spin, but not so much that you dont go anywhere.
