Does anyone think that you will get a better time shifting an auto through 1,2,3 then D instead of just leaving it in d? I find that I get better "times" going through 1,2,3,d cause you can redline it more than what the D will let.

Yes, going through the gears gives you more control. In D with the pedal down, the trans shifts at about 6000-6300. With the shifter in 1, 2 or 3, it will rev to the limiter. If you drag, go through the gears. Not only more control, but if you do a big burn out, the trans won't try to shift while the tires are going nuts. BTW if you do a brake torque, you will get better times. It's like revving up higher before dropping the clutch. Mid-high 15s i'm guessing depending on how badly you want to abuse the torque converter with brake torques.

Good contribution to this thread, sir. The word "slow" is relative to what you are comparing. Sure, an automatic RA Lancer may be "embarassingly slow" compared to your Evo... but at the same time, your Evo is 'embarassingly slow" compared to mine.

Don't feel so high and mighty crapping on someone's legit thread.

*Puts a vote in for Post of the year*

Depending on how harsh you push the tranny your looking at High 15's/ low 16's..

The nice thing about an automatic... hehe is atleast your times should be consistant... just mash the pedal and ride.

No Powershifting/Granny shifting required
