The movie is what made me think of it in the first place. I was even talking to my friend today about how we should write a program as a joke that all it does is say "stage 1 complete" "warning" "danger to manifold" . I honestly didn't even take it as an insult to me, I just like hooking stuff up and seeing how it works. I've been on this forum for almost a year and everyone seems to be getting continously more and more agitated with every little thing that is said. RELAX. We're all here to just enjoy our cars

Not really worth arguing about. But for your information, you may be able to find something suitable to the emotion you described here: http://www.forumspam.tk/

when you get the OBDII cable, make sure that it's "hot plug" safe (meaning you can plug and unplug with the car on)
and the software usually is TIED to the cable (meaning cable A won't work with software B, only software that came with cable A)
and there are knock off cables, they are not as good and might end up mucking up your ecu.. the goood and expensive ones have built in resistors that protect your ECU from surges from the serial port

There are just a few, stick with the serial port, or you can get the bluetooth adapter and go wireless so you don't have crap running all over the car.

You're welcome, I'm thinking about getting that Auto Enginuity one myself with bluetooth for my PocketPC, just check out their software and all the stuff it covers. Over 82 sensors, all the real time and logged graphs, etc.. its the nicest one I've seen so far, without spending over $1000.

LDV6U, I have been reading a bit about it online and can someone explain if this unit can control/change anything?
There was a statement that almost sounded like it could change timing, I might be wrong.
