You know really I didn't know that tranny fluid would really make a difference on the feel of the shift. SOLD!! I gonna go get some too. Sounds like a good weekend warrior project.

How much a bottle of synchroshift or rp? This sounds interesting. I need to stop reading on this site. Every time I open a thread I want to open my wallet with it

Ready for some thread-necro?

I'm due for my first change and I found a few bottles of Redline 75w90 High Performance Gear Oil (synthetic) laying around in the garage... more than enough to fill up my RA.

Anyone try this and have anything to say about it? Is the weight/viscosity correct for our tranny? Any feedback?

75-90 is the right one, just make sure its gl4 i was gonna originally gonna go with redline mt90 but ended up using penzoil synchromesh about 7 bucks a bottle shifts are butter soomth

Everyone just remember to take the car off the jack stands jacks lift ramp whatever before refilling in order to avoid overfilling , (just something i almsot mesed up on)

hmm as i was dbl checkin about the redline 75-90 it apears it may be too slippery for our synchros only the MTL and MT90 seem to have good friction and are gl4. i would recommend agaisnt using ne thing over gl4 since it looked like gl5 or plus would not let the synchros grab as well

look around a bit

Since this is such an old thread, I might as well point out that I still use BG Synchroshift II, at near 90,000 miles, and my trans still shifts like new. Just ordered a few more bottles for my next scheduled change, which I'll do at the same time as putting in a new clutch.

I am still using GM Synchromesh, and also enjoying smooth shifts at 85,000 miles.

Otter, you finally passed me by. If not for the 4500 miles I put on my motorcycle this summer, we'd be tied right now.

Yeah, I'm not too proud of my 2-3k miles per month.

I was looking into that as well and seems great as well but where did you get it at, that's cheap? Everyone says there the one they used is the best so I don't know what to think lol, no offense.
