my chance to buy an evo but i cant ;(

the dealership where i bought my car was bought out and now re-named under new owners, i got this letter yesterday:

As the newest Mitsu dealership in NJ, All Star has been selected as a site to conduct a special market test pricing and financing event. Your vehicle qualifies you for this private sale.

We are in need of acquiring several pre-owned Mitsubishi's by Jan. 3, 2006, in order to build used car inventory. You have been identified as a possible owner of one of these vehicles and our new car managers have been authorized to buy back your current vehicle at our best market prices.

We would like you to exchange your current vehicle for a new 2005/2006 Mitsubishi. With factory incentives like FREE GAS FOR ONE YEAR and generous trade-in values, we feel confident that you can make this exchange w/ little or no money down, and a montly payment that fits your budget. Financing as low as 0% APR will be available along with very affordable pricing. And be sure to see the new, redesigned 2006 Eclipse....it perfoms while sitting still.

A visual inspection of ur vehicle is required to provide you with the highest possible price for your trade. Due to high demand for these vehicles and your owndership status, this event will not be advertised to the general public (it is now! lol)
i REALLY want an evo, and now would be a good time to get one b/c they're offering a high trade in value (supposedly)... should i do it?

but i cant! lol my payments right now are $335 a month w/ this car and it would double with an evo + insurance would probably go up... i need to save so i guess i will have to pass this by...

these kind of deals are usually just to get you into the dealership. as low as 0% means that it is based on your credit score, so plan on paying (if you have not been late) a rate slightly lower than you have now. Of course this depends on how low it was when you bought it. Interest has been going up some. Also, unless it is a push, pull, or drag sale in which they buy any car for a base amount they are rarely going to do anything but give you fair market value. You can maybe expect them to offer to pay it off it you owe more than it's worth. Just remember, you have a car you are happy with. Walk out of the dealership if they don't make the deal you want. I got my RA for 16,466 down from 20,950. Thats including the 500 for my trade in. I actually made the deal, went home so I could get the check from my bank the next day, called them just before they closed and got them down another 300 from what we had agreed on. If they want the sale, they will bend. Just don't expect miracles if they don't need the business.

Your insurance almost certainly would go up (a lot) -- plus monthly expensive oil changes, premium gas only, expensive tires, expensive clutch if you beat on it ..

But if you can swing it, you won't regret it!

I got something like that from my Mitsu dealer, but the mailer read that they'll give me $2000 over the current retail market value for my Lancer trade-in. Oh, the possiblities...

Marketing ploy…

The deal they would give you now is no better than any other time.
You are not missing an opportunity. Wait until you are ready and can afford the car.

Hey, i know what you're going through sort of. I wanted my IS300 but if you read my previous post about it, you would see that the car blew a head gasket the second i floored it. I wanted that Lexus a helluva lot more than you wanted that evo. But I cant afford a newer one (those dam things hold their value) and I wont get crap if i traded my car in. You havent had your car very long, keep it another year or so (like otter told me to do) after you get more of it paid off so when you trade it in or sell it, you wont get raped.

+1. I don't see anything in there they wouldn't consider to anyone everyday of the week.

One thing you always COULD do. Is go in...see what they have to say and just research what the insurance WOULD be. You MAY be surprised. You have nothing to lose by looking into it right.

If you are already paying $300/monh for insurance (that's seriously high) I wouldn't go near an Evo.

Like a few guys here have already said. This may seem like a deal on the surface, but it's really not. And that feeling inside that you have like this opportunity wont come around again, guess what it will. In January they will send you a notice about a New Year blow out sale. Then if February it will be called Giant Blizzard Sale. And in March, the Bring in the Spring Sale. You get the picture? Evertime it will seem like you are about to miss out on something that will never happen again.

well my golden chance to buy an evo was yesterday BUT i didnt because i dont have someone to take care for the account of the ra, wich means selling it but i dont have someone to sell it too..

the evo was repo by the banck and only had a minor impact on the front fender.. wich is replaced by cf fenders or new ones.. well [puts 20000 deg fire suit on] the car was in the neighborhood of 13k and i just coulnd have it... I SUX

boricuas that want this; is on the popular leasing site at bayamon (the evo is 2004 red)

youve got to be an idiot to buy a repo evo. (hey its rhymes). think about what people would do with their evo if their not paying for it. you know their going to tear the **** out of it before its taken from them. think about it.
