I got my car in part for the 100k warrenty. I won't see any depriciation until way after it's paid off because i'm not selling it. I'm gonna drive the wheels off of it. Thats the only way you ever get you moneys worth. Drive it for 10 years. My next "project" will be an old Porcshe. I really want a 1972 911 with the 2.4 litter. Those have been going up in value. Bottom line is the RA is a fun daily driver but I want something way different for my weekend car.

okay lets clear things up. first off i said sticker price is 21K. i bought my 2004 RA brand new(20 miles) 7 months ago for 15,000$. however its still technically a 21,000$ car msrp. now i have 10,000miles on it and i took it to subaru and mitsu. both said 10,000$ for trade in. they said if im serious enough and have money down they could go as high as 12,000$. thats a 9-11,000$ difference from sticker. Evos are 31K new, and they still get about 25K back at trade in.thats only a 6K$ difference which is acceptable, and the cars all have about 30K miles on them on average.

I heard you bro but that is the dealer trade in value, you should receive close to your paid off. The reason why they are giving you that little amount is because they want a profit when they re sell your car. You can go and get your pay off paid by the dealers or sell your car independetly.

I got mine brand new in 2003 for 14k. for me, the price was worth the fact i had a car that no one else had driven, and it had 8 miles on it. Also, it was the only MTX on the lot. 32 atx oz's and 1 mtx es.

The important thing to realize is that you bought that $21K car for $5K off sticker. The dealer probably said the same thing when you bought it from him. Why, Why, Why, Why am I selling a $21K car for $16K........Because that's the best he can get. I can easily go across the street today, and buy a Ford F150 for $8,500 off sticker. If there's a soft market for the car when it's new, put 20-30K miles on it, and it'll be even softer. Yeah, some cars hold their value better, no doubt. But you usually don't buy them for $5K to $7K off MSRP when new. That right there should be the biggest indicator. Sorry to bear bad tidings.

This subject has already been analyzed to death on here. Basically, new cars depreciate a lot their first year! If this is news to you, you didn't do your homework before buying a car. MSRP doesn't mean squat if nobody ever pays that price for the car, either. Most people bought their RA's for under $18k, so that's the REAL new value of the car. Drive it off the lot, and expect it to suddenly be worth $14k max, and it drops from there.

Closed.
