Exclamation Re-Clear Coat and Cleaning Carbon Fiber...

*I did a search, didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

My spoiler is starting to get pretty bad, and there is a spot that needs to be re-coated and also how do I maintain the life of the cf? Is there special cleaning utility for cf? Ive heard/read some waxs work and don't work. Ive never wax the cf of the spoiler, but the so cal sun is beating on it and it's not good so I want to do something soon.

Has anybody got the cf wing re-clear coated and how much did it cost? I called around my local area and nobody knows what im talking about...

the wing didnt come stock with his RA though, the dealership wont honor anything...
I think there is a way to carefully sand them down and re-clear coat (proferssionally).
find a safe wax and keep that wing coated!

I was in Jamaica recently and that is how they deal with the wings.
They sand it and reclear, good as new. I actually saw the finished product you cannot tell.

Try sanding it with a fine sand paper and water then rub it with white rubbing compound and finish it with a good wax. it should be back to new look!

I actually had my CF hood redone just a couple weeks ago. I got it free from a friend because it was just about the most beat up, faded, yellow, ugly piece of CF you've ever seen. lots of 600 and 800 grit wet sanding, and 2 coats of clear later, looks better then it did new.

search the evo show and shine forum. there was a craze awhile back where all the evo guys were sanding their painted wing down to the bare cf and clearcoating it.

Just have it painted black. I personally don't really like the cf look, but sometimes it can look good, you know?
