Why would it be difficult to do due to the Mivec? I used to own the Lancer 1.6 Mivec MR and it worked perfectly with the Greddy Emanage. Ran the car for 3 years even got the VTEC control in the Emanage to control the Mivec via an Apexi VTEC to Mivec signal converter.

the difference here is that the 1.6lt mivec's are the old type and the Greddy was able to be tuned to it quiet easily but with the new mivecs they are a totally different engine as far as the way they work and are the mivec works on them... the difficult bit is getting the input and output values right (I think that is explaned right)

so the SAFC will be the same very hard to get it to work - what I had thought might work would be to have 2 of these units 1 to control before MIVEC and the other after Mivec... but was told that this would not work either

RPW are working on a Haltech which will be a little more expensive but so much more usable

I think the Mivec then and now is not much of a difference. It still uses oil pressure to shift between the two high and low camshaft lobes. In fact I was told by many that the Emanage was uncompatible with the 1.6Mivec. You need to know the stock switch over point between the high and low cam. Its best not to use the SAFC but the VAFC or any piggyback that has VTEC Control With this control, you can then set the switch over point....However in order to use the VTEC Control on any piggyback, you need to get the VTEC to Mivec signal converter from Apexi to use the VAFC, or any piggyback with VTEC Control.
