the fact of the matter is you will get LESS power putting premium in your ralliart. it will not burn as completely and you will have both lower power, worse gas mileage and additional (needless) strain on your cat.

look, if you're really worried about the power, go get it dyno'd for real.
Well, compresion is set by the engine but if you have high temperature on the engine and a fast burning gas combustion will begin before its optimun point (max compression). Here in P.R. the temperatures run over 94degrees 90% of year .So I dont know you but my butt dyno knows when im using reg or premium . and my odometer marks 200 miles per tank on regular and 260 mpt on premiun so well, I dont know maybe my odom is a liar and need to be changed !

By the way im not a mechanic specialist ,just a musician and all of this was learned here on the net.

I noticed this on really hot days, but if the temp is at like 70 degrees out then my car feels fast.

So as mentioned previously I used Premium Octane 98 and I defnitely notice the responsiveness. I was driving for a while and all when good and all and all of a sudden a few 20-30kms later, gear 1 and 2 just felt much more responsive, I'm not sure but perhaps the ecu must've recognised the new gas and reacted positive to it.

?

The same happens here in P.R. but premium solves it! 92-94 degrees it really hot !In the nights 90 degrees its the rule most of the time. The problem its premium (93oct) its now 79 cents a liter vs 61 cents liter for regular (87oct).
