2nd and 3rd = good stuff!

IMO, Mivec is too shy. Camshaft will unleash the beast.

Vtec on the other hand, well, not shy, screams and I guess in that essence shows power, I like it though. Can get quite noisy yah reckon?

Could you imagine.

Two cars rolling, one of them being the RA, the other being a Honda Integra. Honda pulls up, lights go green, they are both just cruising...

THEN, both engines start revving a bit high, both know there is a rolling start happening, theres a tunnel just down a few 100 metres, the Honda takes off, RA without hesitation gives chase....3.. 2.......1. BOOM 3500rpm !! HITS THE MIVEC.. Honda on its way.... BOOM HITS THE VTEC...both enter the tunnel, screams of MIVEC and VTEC down the tunnel pass a WRX and an EVO rofl..

Then again, if a WRX and EVO did the same thing, lawl

vtec sounds louder id think not b/c of vtec but bc most vtec engines have alot higher redlines. i know the rsx is alot higher and i think the integra too. think that has alot to do with why it "screams"

On topic, true lol.

N.A are made to be mid-top end.

From what I hear, the old mivecs, back in the day were more aggressive and the pioneer mivec owners say our Mivec engines are too shy. I agree.

Hmm, anyone search the You Tube Video of 'Ralliart vs Nissan Spectra Spec V' or something similar, you will hear the mivec change on rolling start in about 2nd or 3rd gear!

Yeah I do.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXX2iARO-gM

Sorry about the camera angle, I wedged my mobile between the steering wheel.

The fun doesn't happen until about 0:35 seconds into the vid! Turn the volume up lol. It's a second gear, third gear rev...

EDIT:
Sorry thats my clip, I thought you were asking about my video. The video for the mivec change-over is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3mHkKegClo

Listen carefully though! 0:24secs ; 0:49secs ; 1:15secs

Yeah man it sound crazy!! but then again if you want to make it sound more you should increase the diameter of the intake (obviously not the MAF part) I once had a 3 in custom CAI and a reduction in the MAF part to 2.5 and dude when the MIVEC kicked it was like christmast but little torque thou

mivec isnt nearly as pronounced as vtec.... this is a GOOD thing actually because honda purposefully created a rough switchover to give you the illusion of a big change in torque

Actually it's not an illusion they DO gain some torque but because they don't have that much like us the transition is violent. Not like ours, remember having a 2.4 liter is a great advantage in terms of the torque in all the powerband
