Just got my Injen CAI and RRM UDP installed what a difference, but from full throttle in 2nd from about 2,000RPM you can clearly hear and the mivec switch over around or just after 3,500.

Check out the vid I made, you can hear it, especially on the 4th gear foot down one where it builds up for sec then switches.

Not only can you hear mivec on a properly working ralliart, you can feel it too.

I know that mitsu say its at 3,500 on the graph the guy post (last post page 7) but thats on a JDM version of 4g69 that comes in GRANDIS <<thats a wagon of some kind of thing like that, who tell you mitsu didnt change the 4g69 setup for the Lancer,

think this
A wagon need what? TQ because of the weight (mivec earlier)
a car doesnt need much Tq, and does need a better hi end (mivec later)(if its a performance car)

Other companies do this ^^^^^^^^

maybe the change it, maybe not, IM SURE that my car activates at 4,500, I have 2 vtec cars, and have drive alot of Vtec, VVTL-i , I-vtec cars and when the switch over sound just like my car (obious our cars only change in Intake so we dont hear it that loud)

maybe you guys have exhaust and thats why you dont hear it, who know?

^^^ Sorry bro, MMC didn't change the MIVEC engagement from the JDM Grandis to the USDM Ralliart. Same exact motor for both cars, engaging at 3500rpms. The problem is, the MIVEC engagment is soooo smooth and the transition is non-violent a la vTEC or i-vTEC that you can virtually not hear it switch at all. That was the point of MIVEC, to make it seemless as possible. At 4500rpms, your not hearing any switch at all, your just hearing the intake, exhaust and engine noise reaching its torque band and spreading throughout the car. Look at any dyno of a ralliart... stock or slightly modded. You will see no transition @4500rpms.

That sounds about right Arith.

Mivec is a smooth transition whereby torque is evenly distributed. If our torque was peaked at around 5000rpm and our redline was slightly higher, we would have a violent transition like v-tec.

The higher the rpm, the louder the engine. In vtec's case, thats why they scream ever-so mean.

we dont have a "violent" transition cause we only have mivec on Intake, just like Honda's D16z6 1.6L sohc vtec, vtec only on IN, you cant hear it, no matter what

Lets see what i can find out

the 4,500 change in sound its too much and too fast to be just the intake or Tq or what ever, it just sound like a activation point...

the high lift cam lobes are only on the intake side, the exhaust side doesn't change for mivec.

If your car is activating at 4500 you have a problem with your oil pressure. good luck, and let us know what you find out.

thanks for explaining him

and well lets see what I find out, maybe the car activate the mivec at 3,500, and the ECU change the Maps at 4,500 thats why I hear that

Integras GSR are like that, the vtec engage at 4,500 , but you dont hear or feel nothing (absolutly no change) till 5,800

I will let you all know

Stock Vs. SRI

hey,

installed my SRI RRM the other day and just been having fun and made a small vid

one is stock, the other is with SRI, no other performance mods(atm)
both are on the same stretch similar conditions but diffent days,
taken with my cameraphone,
all taken from a stop:first gear, then a first to second gear, then second gear

Stock: http://s102.photobucket.com/albums/m...rent=Stock.flv

SRI: http://s102.photobucket.com/albums/m...urrent=Sri.flv
