what code is stored in the ECU? are there any issues with driving the car, or will it not function normally at all? Meaning can you drive down the street even though you know it will cut off, or will the car not move without an issue? Have you actually timed it out to 5-10 minutes or are you guessing? The time line could be important in diagnosis, so be accurate. have you changed anything recently? does it make any noise?

it sounds to me like your car is fine on a cold start, but after warming up it doesn't like something it's getting from one of your sensors. if you have the code pulled it should point you to the offender, or at least the system that is causing the problem.

Is your car under warranty? If so it might be easier just to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it. Sometimes... rarely.. its easier..? But yea I took full advantage of my warranty.

This problem is impossible to figure out with the limited information you've provided.

You said the CEL light came on then went off. Make sure the light isn't blinking or any kind of flashing which could mean SERIOUS problems. If it is stop what you are doing and TOW it to the dealer. Please give more info.

Probably won't help you much, but I had a minivan do the same thing. It would just die at times and then anywhere from a minute to a half hour later it would start up again. Some electronic part in the distributor would overheat and cause the engine to shut down.

Took it to a few places and none of them could figure out what was wrong because the code would erase when it started back up so diagnostics showed nothing wrong. The last place I took it to just left it running till it died and then figured it out.

the car was running fine until i changed the accelerate cable"700-600 idleing".after aprx 10 minu of driving the car will shutt off on a trafic or stop sign. it is like fuel is cutting off but it is working fine unless it is the fuel filter
