My new Evo IX, compared to my 2.4 Lancer

Well I've been gone for a while, it took a long time to sort out insurance for my Stolen 2.4 Lancer.

At the beginning of january though I took delivery of an Evo IX FQ-340.

And I guess now I need to compare the two cars for you guys.

First impression was that the Evo wasnt very responsive at all unless in the right gear. This would be the turbo lag. The biggest difference between the 2.4 and the Evo was 1st gear off the line.

In the 2.4 if you put your foot down the wheels would spin and youd shoot off with a lot of torque steer.

In the Evo, You put your foot down and nothing really happens for a second then you shoot forward faster than I could ever imagine.

The Evo itself feels lighter than the Lancer, and the steering is a lot tighter, less assisted. The Evo is very soft suspension wise, but excellently damped so that you get all the road handling of the TEIN's with all the comfort of the Lancer's stock suspension.

The Evo feels much smaller than it is, whereas the Lancer feels quite big. I still think the Lancer was more fun to just have a little blast in, in its modded state. The Evo feels much more serious. Like you have to behave.

The Evo is a wonderful car, the AYC really helps cornering and the grip in pouring rain is fantastic. But it does feel less raw and fun than the tuned lancer. The turbo lag and shocking fuel economy makes the car much more difficult to drive. So I'll miss that.

The Evo is stock btw, and it will be staying that way!

Would I change things? No... The Evo im very happy with and it feels godlike on the road. But I loved the 2.4 lancer I had more.

Yeah it came with those. Ralliart in UK do loads of extra things to the Evos, such as increasing the power to 340 or 360 bhp and selling them with full warranty.

^ Spend a couple grand and make yours run like one... it's not that hard and far less gay. Although you still won't have AYC.

19'd ... haha that statement made my day.

Diavlo, that car looks great, Personally I'm not a big fan of the Ralliart lettering on the mudflaps but I like the mudflaps in general.

Those seats are pure sex...
